Consolidating Aircraft folders

Post by petebramley »

Hi Guys

I want to consolidate many of my most popular aircraft types into single folders, I.e. all of the HTAI F-16C
into one Aircraft folder and all of the HTAI F-16D into another. At the moment I have loads of seperate folders
(one for each country or state). Is there a limit to the amount of [fltsim.x] entries that can be in the
Aircraft.cfg file or any other problems that I should be aware of.

Have already worked out that I will require seperate folders for the Drag-chute birds.

Cheers

I seem to remember from somewhere that 0-999 is the allowable series.

I will keep that in mind. have decided to split the 'C' into USAF & Others. That should keep me under the
999 mark :D

I hope not, as my HTAI F-16C folder has reached fltsim.979

And that's without the F-16A versions (which I keep in a seperate folder for the sake of it).

I divided them in six directories:
F-16 A-C HTAI
F-16 A-C HTAI MAIW
F-16 B-D HTAI
F-16 B-D HTAI MAIW
F-16 A-C Drag Chute HTAI
F-16 B-D Drag Chute HTAI

I don't think there is a limit at 999, but I'm not sure.

I've had WELL over 1000 in each folder.

I had to break it down to 6 folders. F-16C (non-US), F-16C (US), F-16C (US-Res), F-16D plus F-16C and D Drag chutes.

I might have been able to break it down further but I reached the limit that ACA2005 would accept and would blow up, meaning that I could do no error checking. I think that limit is 999.

Yes. If I recollect, the reason there was a perceived limit was due to ACA2005 only able to see up to a certain number.

Thanks for the input Guys.

I have finished up as follows:

[Drive]\FS2004\Aircraft\AI_HTAI_F-16 A C
\Texture.Egypt
\60_9734
\f16c.bmp
f16c_l.bmp
(Only one texture shown for clarity 154 Texture files in total for Egypt)

AI_HTAI_F-16 A C_Drag
AI_HTAI_F-16 A C_USA
AI_HTAI_F-16 B D
AI_HTAI_F-16 B D_Drag

I found some groups that had mixed Normal and Drag models in the same folder, which caused some heartache.
I also found a couple of duplicates that had sneaked in over the years.

Am now thinking of doing the same for all the MAIW F-16's

Exactly, so far I have not heard about a limit for [fltsim.x] entries - apart from the number 250 circled around due to the ACA2005 limitation.

The latest versions of ACA2005 now have a limit of 1000.
