Using Flight Simulator 9.
Using Presidential Helicopter Program, “BN_HMX-!_Presidential_9”
I have used the program from scratch. AF2_WHSE.bgl, The Helicopter starts, Taxies, then turns left instead of right, taxies into the Whitehouse, then takes off.
I have deleted and remade the landing area numerous times to no avail, the helicopter keeps turning left instead of right.
Made a new airport, still having the problem
The download hangar is currently disabled. We're doing our best to bring it back as soon as possible.

Re: Helicopter Taxies wrong Way
The root of the problem is in how FS9 handles runways compounded by the use of ultra short runways for AI helos, which FS9 was never intended to do.
Let's say for example that we have a runway 36/18, with a parking spot right off the north end of 36 that only connects by a single taxi link to the 36 end. With a normal, long runway, if the AI wanted to take off on 36 it would back taxi down the runway and takeoff. However, with very short runways, the AI assumes that the runway is actually a runup area, so instead of back taxing, it turns immediately onto 36 and takes off, even if there isn't actually any runway in that direction.
On most scenery this isn't an issue, because helicopters do what helicopters do. It can even be used as an exploit some times where there isn't enough space, so you make the taxi link hit middle of a 500 ft runway... then the helicopter will take off from the middle of the runway instead of taxing. But, for the White House it's a problem due to scenery. The solution is to close the runway pointed at the White House for take offs. That way the AI can only take off away from the White House.

Re: Helicopter Taxies wrong Way
Changed runway As indicated, helicopter did what it was supposed do. Thanks.
