Adding new airports in AIFP

Post by ConcordeBOAF »

I would like to get aircraft flying from airports not in FSX? How do I add them in AIFP3?

I shall try to make this as short as possible. However, please note that the steps are not necessarily as simple as they are short.
1. Create an afcad in AFX or ADE or some other afcad creating tool.
2. Once the afcad is in an active folder get AIFP to find all third party afcads.
3. Create a flight plan using the newly created afcad.

Now these steps have to be done in that order, so if you are confident that you can do a step then go ahead. If not feel free to ask to ask for more details about an individual step that you are engaged in.

I do:
1. Go to find/collect airports
2. All (other) addon airports
3. Collect
4. Make subset
5. Tick all in the directory tree
6. One that was in it was gliding airport (fictional code) BGGC.It says 'BGGC is not in airport list.dat)
What am I doing wrong

You don't have to have an actual bgl of an airport/field to add it to the AIFP database.

On the airports dropdown - open airports editor - add the relevant details remembering to tick FS9/FSX as required.

Apply update and then a dialog box asking to save to AirportList.dat should appear. OK it and the ICAO will be in your database for use in any FP.

If the ICAO is not known when creating an FP the airport editor box appears automatically.

That is very true, Jim.
In this case though I was trying to keep it simple for Brandon as he wants to create flight plans for airfields that don't exist in game. Therefore as he has to create it/them to achieve what he wants I was describing his full process.

If he starts to think that he can create plans w/o creating afcads then it is going to throw him out of wack.

OK Brandon,
So you say that 'BGGC' is not in the AirportList.dat.

Now maybe the simplest thing is for you to zip up the afcad, and attach it here and I can look at it and see if I can see an issue with the make up of the afcad. It maybe that, it maybe that it doesn't like the non-standard ICAO, it maybe something else completely.
