RAF Akrotiri

Post by vallyforge »

Hello,

I'm sorry if this is posted in the wrong place,

Is there a chance a package could be made for RAF Akrotiri [LCRA] in Cyprus, its a strategic location for the middle east and although its RAF most allies airforces use it when necessary, so most types of aircraft can be used, C130,C17,Tristars etc.

Just thought i would ask!

Cheers,
Roger.

Hello Roger, welcome to MAIW. Some friendly advice, if you dont want to get on the bad side of MAIW dont ask for request. There is a great bunch of people here but they dont do request, can you imagin if everybody requested somthing nothing would get done.

Again welcome to the site.

No worries, Roger. I am just having some fun with you. Like the FAQ says...the reason we don't take requests is that it's just unreasonable given the time it takes to create a package. That is something I don't think people understand. It takes months to create a package and put it through beta. On top of that, I would say that the majority of packages that we start...never even get finished for one reason or another. So, it's a huge investment in time to get even one package out the door.

You guys would freak if you saw our staff "Packages" forum.

Welcome to the zoo!

Hi all,

I have found 2 sceneries, one at Flightsim and one at AVSIM but I am not satisfied with them, I have also found a post here at forum talking about another one I think which is at AVSIM also but its not there anymore, is there anything available?

Thanks

on AVSIM :

raf_akrotiri.zip (use some MAIW library - for FS9) (I use this one)
lcra_akrotirri.zip (for FSX)

on FLIGHTSIM :

cyprus-1.zip (all Cyprus island - for FS9)
lcra_1.zip (for FSX)
akrotiri-1.zip (for FSX)

Flightsim.com seems to be out of service today (2017-03-20)...database error.

For FS9, there is a good scenery of LCPH Paphos, with military appron (also used by RAF aircraft for anti ISIS missions) on this website : http://fs9scene.blogspot.be/2013/06/cyprus.html

OK,

lcra_akrotirri.zip (for FSX) - the one I have found and you posted also, I dont like the photoreal, covering/cornering a big area away from the airport and also its an one color photoreal with no seasons changes!

akrotiri-1.zip (for FSX) - found also but I didnt try it because its only an AFCAD

cyprus-1.zip (all Cyprus island - for FS9) - This one is out off order because I am using P3D and a whole island scenery dont feel right, I have also AEROSOFT LCLK and LCPH v2 from Max Kraus installed

So, I will try this one at 1st, lcra_1.zip (for FSX) and

if not I will try the "raf_akrotiri.zip (use some MAIW library - for FS9) (I use this one)" and see if it looks OK at P3D or if it needs adjustments that will not took too long to work around.

Thank you

Ola,

You are welcom

Flightsim.com seems to be ok now.

For a good AFCAD, perhaps can you ask to JohnTen on this forum. He has made a lot of very good AFCAD all around the world. Ask him to share it f he has do one ;-)

And if you make a scenery of LCRA, can you compile it in FS9 to ?

Thanks
