Re: WSMG AI F-16 preview
One thing we wanted to do with the two seaters was to make sure that you could tint each canopy, forward and rear, a different tint if you wanted to by simply changing a single small block of color on the model's texture sheet. Some of the two seat models out in the Viper world today still have one canopy with the gold tint from the old days and the other with no tint/clear. By thinking ahead on how we set up the texture mapping, we've created the option for different canopy tints after the model has already been finished.
In this shot you can see the front canopy has the gold tint while the rear does not. You can google the reason why this is on some F-16's and why they used a gold tint on some models in years past.
This shot also highlights another difference from the front seat to the back, the front seater is wearing a different visor (JHMCS/Scorpion) than the guy in the back who has the standard visor. These too can be a different tint, either black or gold reflective. Same principle, each is mapped separately on the texture sheet to give the end user the option. This gives each model along with other options on texturing, as much variety from one to the next.
We will do some of the B/D models with only a single pilot as well, again to increase the variety. While no F-16 back seat should ever go unoccupied (right Greg??) it does happen and we want to model that as well.

That is almost the definition of attention to detail.

Wouldn't we have to artificially narrow the smile?

Roger that! Amazing, both my FSX payware flyable Vipers don't have that level of detail.Firebird wrote:That is almost the definition of attention to detail.

Also got -
15 feathers and normal inlet for the P&W models.
12 feathers and widemouth for the GE models.
ECS intake angle is different on both types.
Angle of the intake splitter (top of the intake) is different for both.
Plus lots and lots of other stuff, and I'll be we will still have missed a few things!!!
Plus something we think is a 1st on AI aircraft......

Hello,
Any new preview and news ?
Any new preview and news ?
Re: WSMG AI F-16 preview
It was delayed due to personal issues that Mike had.
HOWEVER, it is still progressing and the first models are near the end of development cycle. Not too much longer now.

Some preview shots from the initial USAF Block 50 C and D model release, complete Misawa AB package:
I couldn't just let the models loose without some proper surroundings to go with them!

Are you sure these are not Falcon 4 shots? Great to see the HTS mounted and I hope the DCC (crew chief) is animated to install the ladder.
