Question about repaints
hope this is the right place to post this but...i've made a few repaints of nick blacks f-22 in adobe photoshop cs2, my only question is what do you save it as? do i need any other programs to convert the psd file?
Different people use different ways - it also depends if you want to save the textures as DXT3 (ideal for AI or if you want a cleaner look) or 32-bit (better for flyables) and the tool I use to convert the textures is DXTbmp available from
http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/pr ... dxtbmp.htm
It's a great tool and allows you to convert textures from one format to another.
All you need to do is to save the texture as either as *.bmp or if you have alpha channels save it as *.tga then use DXTbmp to open the file and then save it as an Extended BMP which will then give you the DXT/32-Bit options
