You might try to Google "Free File Transfer". I found a couple of sites that allow you to sign up for free and transfer a limited number of files daily, of very large size. If you want to transfer larger number of files, of course, they want some money, but else it is free, and I've use one of two of these successfully, with no problems with spam etc.

Of course, you will have to email the recipient a link to d/l the file - all part of the process when you upload.

F-5 T-38

Post by swp53 »

Hi Cianofranc,
The main difference is F-5A Freedom Fighter is single seat fighter, T-38 Talon is a two seat trainer.

The Morocan Air Force have 27 F-5A and F-5B (two Seater) and 23 F-5E and F-5F Tiger II aircraft acording to Wiki.

Search Wikipedia for Northrop F-5 for more information.

Steve

Luciano,
The simplest way to describe the difference is like this, consider the T-38A as an unarmed F-5B, I am deliberately ignoring the AT-38 here. The F-5B could carry a larger array of weapons.

The F-5A was obviously a single-seater, and carried a radar and the AIM-9, built in guns and ECM. It also famously could carry fuel tanks on the wing tips that looked like coke bottles.

The F-5E was a vastly upgraded version of the F-5A with new bigger radar, more powerful engines, new intakes, newer electronics etc. The F-5F was actually a two seat version of the F-5E rather than a newer version of the F-5B.

Now in modelling terms you could get away with using the T-38 as an F-5B but its not close to the F-5F, and you have the problem of the single seat version.

Now I heard a rumour that somebody has plans to do the F-5 family but I can't confirm who or a timetable, but personally I think it would be most welcome. I might be easier to wait and see developments in this area.

I know that this brief simplified description of the family, and I did this to answer the question rather than provoke a debate.
Steve

I found another news font about Moroccan Air Forces:

http://www.inss.org.il/memb.php

This is the site of "The Institute for national security studies" of Tel Aviv University.
The study is very recent (September 2007).
You can find all Middle East air forces ...
They say: n. 13 obsolete F-5A/B, and 22 F-5E/F, but 15 actually in service only.

If i understood, Steve said that: I could use a t-38A for simulating F-5B (but they are obsolete...).
So, while we are longing for T-38 family :D, we could use for F-5E the Hyun-wook Hong's model, with Mike Pearson's repaints (not too reach of details, but... they fly!).

ANY NEWS ABOUT T-38 PAINT KIT ? :D

REGARDS

LUCIANO

PS: Thank you for all suggestions and news ...

Well, I'm working on creating NF-5A's and NF-5B's, but this is still very premature... WIP, as in "work in preparation", so to say...

Biggest - visual - difference between NF-5 and F-5 is the fact that majority only flew with the "coke-bottle shaped" wing tip tanks rather then Sidewinders and also had chaff and flare dispensers on the rear fuselage, which was rather unique and which has only been adapted by the Norwegian Airforce during their last upgrade.
