Is it just me or is the MAIW website a little bit slow recently ?
Re: Website speed
Haven't noticed any change on my end. Sometimes, if there are a bunch of people downloading packages, it can run a bit slow.

Re: Website speed
Hawk,
since you are near EDDF and I am close to EDDH I think this maybe a German problem as it takes ages today to load the pages. I even got a timeout. Hopefully it will be sorted out soon.

Re: Website speed
It's still not the usual speed here (MAIW pages only ).
Well, maybe the cables are frozen and the electrons, too

Apparently the speed of electricity in France, Germany and Italy has been reduced by the EU to pay for the national debt in Greece.

Re: Website speed
Question is what is slow to you?I have internet pack on 1.5Mbps download speed but never higher than 200kbps and from MAIW only 47kbps
VIVA LA VIDA
Re: Website speed
My internet connection is 569kB/s download speed (I just tested it).
Trying to download the latest package from MAIW it shows ca. 8..15 kB/s.
Since last Tuesday or Wednesday it takes noticably longer to to load the front page, login to the forum or refresh the forum than what I was used to in the past. Other websites are not affected.

Re: Website speed
I don't know...no problems here. We do not have a dedicated server for MAIW.

Re: Website speed
Delete your cache and cookies? It's just as fast as it always was for me. I'll check a download speed, too.
Edit: I was downloading the Moroccan package at around 300 kbs on my DSL...that's normal (even good) for me.

No problem in my end of the UK. Downloading packs at 280kb, uploading to FTP at 56kb.

No problems from here either!campbeme wrote:No problem in my end of the UK. Downloading packs at 280kb, uploading to FTP at 56kb.

Uploading would to bee expected to be the bottleneck as you surely use an ADSL connection! The A stands for asymmetric i.e. Upload is by definition a lot narrower than download as the average subscriber will not run a web server from his home computer so download is far more important!

Re: Website speed
So it looks like the recurring problems appear to affect Germany. I wonder if its an internal routing issue there. If it bounces around from point to point it will slow it down dramatically.
I just did a tracert from my desktop to www.militaryaiworks.com and found that it took 21 hops. This included 6 hops at the server end and 6 to leave my ISP. That's not bad at all.
What about you guys?
