"This Board has no Forums"
"This Board has no Forums"
Hello together,
I am a new user of this forum.
Before I registered, I clicked sometimes on the forum tab of MAIW Homepage.
There I found: "This board has no forums", so why should I register?
Is this intentionally so?
regards
Guenther
P.S.: excuse my poor English, my teacher was not amused too ... (nearly 50 years ago)

You have to register to see the forums.

that is exactly, why I hesitated so long to register ....BadPvtDan wrote:You have to register to see the forums.

Indeed, but I think Guenther is trying to say that this is only obvious once you've registered. If you haven't yet registered, then all you know is that "the board has no forums" and therefore you don't see any point in registering. So you move on, never to return to the MAIW pages....
No doubt there is a percentage of people who don't realise that there is an active community here - albeit a small percentage.

Well, it's been this way since the website's inception for security reasons. It's not going to change....and we've had almost 4,000 people figure it out.

That came across as kind of mean-spirited. Not meant that way...the dangers of typing short answers on an iPhone.

Re: "This Board has no Forums"
Are you really going with the "I'm not bad, Apple made me do it!" defence?

I've been watching a lot of Law and Order.

I will see if we can add a warning that people won't see any forums unless they are logged in.
Re: "This Board has no Forums"
I forgot I still had this on my to-do list
There's a closed "Guest Forum" now that is only visible if you're not logged in. The only topic in it explains the need to register in order to see the forums.
