Yep the textures from the \Scenery\World\Texture folder have either not been copied across to your \Scenery\World\Texture folder or one of them got corruped in that process.
Try installing the package to a neutral folder of your choice and copying them across manually to see if any of them are the cause.

I created a flatten file to get rid of some sunken or floating buildings when using the freeware FSGenesis mesh.
Simply copy the file into the scenery folder of the NAS Patuxent River scenery.

Hi guys, just installed the Pax River scenery and it looks fine but do not see any aircraft movement at all, shouldn't there be Hornets, Goshawks etc. coming and going ?, also installed Edit Voicepack but do not hear ATC at all, could someone steer me in the right direction, I've never installed things like this before, thanks.

OK firstly, can you confirm that you are an FS9 user?

If so have you got the marvellous addon scenery?
Do you see aircraft there, but they just don't move or you just don't see aircraft there?

The answers to these questions will help diagnose your problem.

I'm using FS9, and yes there are plenty of aircraft there, F18's, P3's, 737-800's, T45's etc., but no movement, and no pilot/ATC sounds, I do have aircraft sounds though as normal.

Trying changing the date in the sim to the middle of the week. If you are traffic watching on a sat or sun you won't see anything going anywhere since all the sailors and airmen are playing volleyball at the O club.

Ok, changed the date to July 20, saw two Hornets taxi out and take off, no other movement and nothing from Edit Voice Pack, is this base supposed to be this quiet ?

It can be yes. Our bases are not designed to always have moving traffic but more have a realistic rate of movements.
What you really need is a tool that can show you a schedule for a base, something like ACA2005.

Ok, I believe things are right now, if I hit the ATC menu key I get ATC for the planes at KNHK, and they do fly around a bit, I just thought it would be a little more traffic moving is all, now we need the new NAS Oceana scenery to be released.

FS9 user here. Great scenery, but I am too suffering the crash to desktop. I have done a little troubleshooting and it seems to crash during daytime. I can load the base up just fine at night and made it all the way to 6:30am flying around. But when I tried past that time, it would CTD. Any thoughts

'reaper,
It would seem that you have have either a missing texture or a corrupt one. Did you install manually or automatically?

I would try downloading again and installing to a temp location. Then manually copy across the 12 texture files in the \Scenery\World\Texture folder to your FS9 \Scenery\World\Texture folder overwriting the ones already there.

See if that cures your problem.

Hi Steve,

My initial install was automatic. I downloaded the package again and did a manual install and overwrite of the 12 textures. I am still suffering from CTD in the daytime. I did notice that I have a generic building in the scenery located at Parking 126.

Hmmm OK, maybe it was one of the main scenery textures that is corrupted.

Firstly have you installed many of our packages before?
If so can you confirm that you followed the instructions for installing properly. The reason I ask is that for you to get a building there something is not quite right. Either the scenery hasn't been installed or activated properly or that the landclass file is not being picked up.

If the answer to following the instructions is yes then try copying the contents of the 'MAIW Patuxent River NAS (KNHK)' folder over the top of your first installation.

I reinstalled everything and moved the landclass and scenery library down on the addon list and placed the pax river at the top. I now have the scenery loading for the day time with no CTD. I still have the generic building in that parking space. I don't know how to figure that one out, but the important thing is that I can use the scenery in the day. Thanks for the help on this matter. And for your first question, I am using all US bases that you are available.

Well that's progress.
It sounds like you have a one off problem and it sounds like maybe you can fix it yourself by creating an exclude, either using an afcad tool like AFX or using the freeware tool ExcBuilderV2. The last one is very simple to use and does only one job, even I was able to create excludes galore after 5 mins.

I'll give it a try. Thanks for all of your help.
