It loads fine when you disable the the China Lake package. Tried to load it before adding the land class package, but it crashed.

Just a thought. Do you have any Alphasim scenery in the area? I had similar problems after loading the MAIW Nellis package. I had the Alphasim area 51 and tonopah scenery and had nothing but problems when loading up FS. After I removed the Alphasim scenery everything was tip top.

Hope this helps, John.

I do not have any area 51 scenery. I even tried to fly from Inyokern to China Lake. As soon as I get about 2-3 miles out, CTD. I guess it is not going to happen for me, Thank you to all who tried to help.

It's going to happen, it's just a matter of tracking down the offending file.

I think you may be missing the airport background texture file.

Let me see if I can figure out which texture file that is. If so you can search for it in your world/scenery/texture folder to see if you have it installed.

I am also having this problem after a re-install of FS9. Did you manage to identify the texture file concerned?

many thanks,

I forgot. Let me send a quick message to John and he should be able to tell me which file was used for the background.

Might take a day or two to get back to this with an answer so please be patient.

Check your Flight Simulator9/Scenery/World/Texture folder for the following textures:

CLOS.bmp
CLOS_LM.bmp
CLS.bmp
CLS_LM.bmp
CLSR.bmp
CLSR_LM.bmp

These 6 texture files should have been installed to that folder location and are responsible for the ground textures around China Lake. See if they are in that folder.

Hi Mike,

None of these files had been installed to my scenery/world/texture folder. I have just done a trial install to a temp folder of both the original package file I previously downloaded in March 2012 and the one currently on Owls nest (both identical) and again the files are not installed. Very strange.

However, a search of my PC found the files in a backup folder I had made of an old FS9 install. Spookily I had never previously installed this package and these are the only files from the package that appear in my backup folder :!:

Anyway, I have copied them across and all working perfectly now :D

Many thanks for your help with this and for all the great MAIW packages.

Kind regards, Christophe

It looks like I do not have these files. How would I get a copy to try on my China lake package?

Guys, here's a zip with your missing texture files - just unzip, copy the bmps and paste them in your Scenery/World/Texture folder.

Hope this may help.

I am having problems with the ground textures bleeding through the runways. This is the first time I noticed this problem.
