For those that don't read the included Readme file, if you have the E-4's already installed from either one of the previous Andrews AFB packages, you have to decide which set of flight plans and aircraft to keep.

If you do not eliminate one set, you will have too many E-4's based at Offutt AFB without enough parking for them.

The E-4 flight plans in this package are completely new. Also this E-4 uses an updated FDE from Jan Martin to make it handle a little better than the default AI Aardvark FDE.

The base is full on Saturday and nearly deserted on Wednesday, this is the way the flight plans are written, they all leave during the week and return home on the weekend.

Look inside the Military AI Works folder for the bonus model. There are no flight plans for it, only model and textures for now. The model is based on what few pictures are available of it for now. When better images surface, it can be made 100% accurate at that time.

Are the flightplans of the E-4's the same as from the Andrews package?

Trev,
I believe that the RAF have decided that they don't need to refuel these birds so they will not have either the boom receptacle nor the probe.
This is done for cheapness and quickness.
Quickness, as in the KC-135's the RAF bought did not have a receiving system installed. Cheapness, as in no trials are required for boom attachments aerodynamics and receiving trials.

This doesn't mean, however, that the decision to add booms will not be taken at a later date, possibly as they go through their first major. (See Typhoons and gun)

You'll have to decompile them and remove the E-4's, as there's other traffic in all three.

No worries Trev. At the moment, there are only a couple images floating around of the first Airseeker. We can't even determine the proper antenna configuration yet. When we do, we'll update the model. We can even do one with a fictional refueling probe on it.

Speaking of that, I just realized that the paints for the Airseekers probably include the red refueling receptacle markings on the top. Those probably can be eliminated at some point as Steve mentioned that they decided to go without the receptacle for refueling.

Hi!
I just downloaded the Offutt AFB package and noticed that Runway 30/12 seems to have its designator ends reversed.
I tried correcting this using AFCAD but cannot find the BGL file to save changes to.
Can anyone tell me which BGL file in MAIW Offutt Addon scenery/scenery to save AFCAD changes made to the runway?

Thanks!

Good catch Patrick, that one's easy enough to correct.

Corrected Offutt ADE file:

MAIW_ADE9_KOFF_Custom.zip
Replace the original Offutt AFB airfield file with this one located in the MAIW Offutt AFB (KOFF)/Scenery folder.

Thanks for the quick fix!
Hopefully now ATC will stop chewing me out for coming in on the "wrong" end ;)

P.S. I live 90 miles up the river from Offutt in Sioux City,Iowa.
Those Offutt birds come up here to practice their touch-n-gos at KSUX.
Those E-4B's gets everyones attention in this small cow-town.

Great package guys, many thanks.

But a question for the uninitiated - why do some of the aircraft have one wing painted black? I know this is not a mistake, I checked on Airliners.net, but I've never seen this sort of paint job before, and wondered what the reason for it is in real life?

Thanks

Something to do with reflections off the wing interfering with the equipment (I believe). No longer strictly necessary, but kept in place because of traditions.

Hi Jack,

As our other member stated, originally the starboard wing was painted black to prevent reflections on various optical equipment/sensors etc.

There is a more detailed explanation here;

thanks for these.

I have been meaning to update the AF1 and other flightplans recently. I do a lot of flying into SAN and YVR and its not realistic to see AF1 everytime I go in there.

For our Current President HNL, BOS, and ORD would be appropriate destinations.

Coincidentally I posted some updated SEC OF STATE FP on the AIG forums for Sec Kerrys first trip overseas if you wanted to update those.

Much Obliged and thanks again,

Dick
