Hi guys, I just installed The Barksdale package and I have a problem. when approaching KBAD or attempting a flight from there the sim crashes to desktop. I have tried flights with the package uninstalled and all works fine, I can only assume something in the package is causing the crash any guidance you can give will be appreciated. :(

Season, day and time of the crash could help to reproduce the problem. :wink:

This is usually do to a missing environmental texture.

As Giorgio said can you give us a specific time that this happens, time of day, month, season, night/day, etc?

Also did you do a manual install to your FS9 folder or did you let the installer do it's thing?

Check inside your Flight Simulator 9/Scenery/World/Texture folder for the following texture files to see if they were all added.

Image

Specifically the ones at the end there that are not associated with the photo terrain, the ones with the super long names are all photo tiles for the photo real ground textures.

Might be an issue in my sim, but are the drag chutes supposed to be textured? I see a separate .bmp.

Hello and good morning,

i have a little problem with a missing texture (see screenshot) at Barksdale (and maybe on some other MAIW-Sceneries also).
Unfortunately i could'nt find out which texture it is and hope for a clue on that.

Many thanks and all the best in 2014.

Regards
Rainer

That's an easy one for once, you're missing a couple textures for the library objects.

Insert these two textures (in the attachment) into the following folder location and this should fix your issue. If not let us know.

EDIT:

It works now.
I've changed the layer of the object library in the scenery config and voilla......

Everything is good again :lol:

Thanks for the help.

Rainer
Hi Mike,

i've copied the two new files in the texture folder (they where allready there) and checked that the scenery librarys are active (screenshot) , but no luck. Still the same untextured vehicles.

Thanks for your former reply and the help.

All the best
Rainer

Hey I am loving the barksdale afb package. I only have about 4 B-52's on the flightline. I also dont have a fuel truck there. How do I fix this?

Quite often FSX will produce different issues than FS9 will. This is why we have the FSX forums so that FSXers can report problems and share their fixes.
If you look here http://www.militaryaiworks.com/newforum ... 46&t=14101 you will find an amended afcad that fixes your issue.
If you don't have some vehicles then I would double-check that you have installed all relevant libraries and that they are loaded before the scenery. The procedure is mentioned in almost all of our package documentation.

B-52 Designator - alternative.

Something which was raised by a staff member is that Flight Sim, has "stratofortress" as the designator for the B-52, which isn't too realistic these days.

To that end, here's a vcpmod which will have ATC referring to them as B-52.

Import using Editvoicedpack and then open up you aircraft config and change the following;

From....................

atc_type=Boeing
atc_model=B52

To.........................

atc_type=silent
atc_model=BUFF

Hi,

I've just installed the Barksdale AFB in FS9, and most of the airport apart from the runway and the apron seems to be underwater.

Do you know what I've done wrong with my installation?

Best regards,

Peter are you using it in FSX? If so that's the issue, it's meant for FS9.

All is not lost though, it can be converted to use in FSX.

Search "Barksdale FSX" using our search funtion.
