Even though I like to keep my AI as current as possible I will still look at this package. Maybe there are some AFCAD's in there I could use. :)

Does the package include all these personal skins or should they be obtained the other way? I cannot download from Avsim's FTP site from here...

All the aircraft in this package are assigned to NAS Oceana(KNTU). The readme tells you which squadrons are included, what their home base(s) are, and tells where some of the planes visit.

Rip, if you are addressing the TOP GUN skins with names of forum personnel, this package doesn't include those. This is two squadrons out of Oceana in standard skins(with roughly 3-5 CAG skins).

There seems to be much more AI in the preview video, than in the released package.

Thats because the preview video is for "MAIW TopGun" not "MAIW Tomcat Sunset package."

TopGun is coming a little later than expected as there are so many FPs to create.

Carl, we need some more info from you.

What airbase/s is this happening at?

Which particular AI aircraft is this happening with, not ai type, but exactly which serial number is this occuring with?

What time/s of the day and days of the week is this occuring?

What tool are you using to watch the AI traffic?

If you will answer these questions for us, that will help us to be able to help you.

Please also ensure that you do not have any duplicate afcads for Oceana NAS installed.

Hi,

Just to add my thanks for these. They do bring some activity to a very empty Oceana ramp in my FS9 - there's only a few visitors in there at the moment. Oh, for a decent AI Hornet!

Know , I know it's rather unrealistic, but does anybody want a couple of these to pay a visit to the UK, or mainland Europe? If there's interest I could set that up pretty quickly and offer it out the same as the Portugese package.

Tomcat Package

Post by GrayRider »

Hello all

I installed the Tomcat package on Friday, but I have a couple of problems with it I can't figure out.

Before I installed it I did go to my FS9 Addon Scenery/Scenery folder and removed the following default afcads based on the readme:1NTU/2NTU/1GSB and KNTU.The only one I had to remove was the KNTU afcad.

Then I installed the package. At KNTU all the F-14's are there, and quite nice I might add.

The problem I'm having is:
1)When I put myself at 1NTU and 2NTU,it puts be in the water somewhere off the coast,so I'm wondering if the two mentioned ICAO codes are acft. carriers, otherwise I'll be in the water.I did go back into the scenery folder and made sure the MAIW 1NTU and 2NTU afcads were there and they were.

2) The third afcad 1GSB doesn't even show up when I tried to go to it.if there is supposed to be an MAIW afcad_1GSB it is not in the FS9 Addon Scenery/Scenery folder even after I installed the package with the auto installer,so I'm not sure what the problem is here???

Thanks for any assistance

Those AFCADs are for waypoints that the Tomcats use for flightplans. They are not airports that you can use.

Thanks for your reply Nick

So I guess the auto installer did what it should,so I take it KNTU is the primary home base for the F-14's in this package, correct?,when I go to KNTU?.
I did bring up the traffic tool to see where they were at,and there were I think 14 of them at KNTU,but they were asleep at the time when I check it.

Thanks

That is correct. Oceana is the home base for the 'Cats.
