NAS Miramar Top Gun package by MAIW

I was talking to my friend about the new package( witch is awesome) and he said that under his NAS Miramar that there are some other ones that say different thing like Mavs flight or something, but when i had looked at mine i only have one. Just let me know what i can do to fix this.

Carl,
there are two AI bgls in the Miramar scenery library. Maverick on his bike and a four ship Tomcat flypast.
The bgls are :-
Traffic_TOPGUN_FLYBY.bgl
Traffic_TOPGUN_Mav's_Bike.bgl

There are a couple of readmes in there which explain when they show up. The reason that they are in there and not in the normal place is simply that they are tied in with afcads supplied with this specific scenery. If you de-select the scenery in FS9 they will be auto de-installed.

As long as you have followed the instructions and installed the scenery you fill have the extra traffic.

The names were completely illegible for me at first. I changed my settings: Hardware--->Global Max Texture from Medium to Massive and can now read them.

Nick, is there something different about the textures or paintkit on your F-14 than other aircraft? This is the only aircraft where I've needed to change that setting to view the aircraft "properly."

I get spontaneous reboots after takeoff from Miramar. Very disturbing. I checked for duplicate AFCADs and found none. Using FS9.

Delete the package first and see if the behavior stops.

Misha, you problem is almost certainly a bad texture file. Possible it was currupted during the download process. You can either redownload and extract to a separate folder and then exchange texture files one by one, which I think would be stupid and wasteful of your time, or you can just remove (completely) the package and re-install a newly downloaded copy.

This does not happen on my system, or on any of the other systems of those whom have tested or tried out this package, which means the problem is on your system only, and not with the package.

I loaded the Top Gun Miramar package this evening and everything works great.

You did an awesome job on this. I later found that installing it caused another problem though. All of the local airports (KSAN, Gillespie field and who know's what else no longer shows up when I select San Diego. I do get NAS North Island, that that is probably because I loaded an improved version. Does anyone know what I did wrong to cause this to happen?

Any help you could provide to help me get the airports back would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Well I don't know your particular circumstances, but I just loaded up FS9 and searching for San Diego I got 12 airports, admittedly 5 are related to this package.
The only thing that I can think of that can cause your symptoms is that either you have switched off your default Western North America, or its install has become corrupt. I had a similar situation once, and didn't realise it.

This would explain why addon scenery is showing but no default scenery.
