I noticed some problems loading the Kingsley Field (KLMT) scenery at dawn or dusk. The loading screen stops at 30%, sometimes 47% then FS9 crashes.
However it works at day and at night.

Mike,

I think it it is somehow related to Kingsley_VTPL.BGL.
The scenery loads at dawn and dusk without this file.

Ahh the lines file. Sounds like you are missing the custom road texture.

Did you do a manual install, because they are both included in the package.

Look in your FS9/Scenery/World/Texture folder for these two files:

Dark_Road.bmp
Dark_Road_LM.bmp

Do you have those in that folder?

BTW, it works fine on my clean default setup even at dusk and dawn.

I have both files in that folder.

I think they are used by several other MAIW sceneries. These other sceneries are OK at dawn and dusk.

Hmmm.....since I didn't do the scenery, I'm not sure what textures that VTPL file might be calling other than those two mentioned above.

Since it works on my default test setup, I am assuming that you are missing something on your end. Maybe a default texture??

I think I might have John's SBuilder source files for KLMT, let me see if I can look at the VTPL file to see what it might be calling texture wise.

If you stay logged on, give me 5 minutes to check it out.

Sorry I don't have his SBuilder source file for KLMT. Did you try loading that VTPL file again from the installer? Maybe it got corrupted somehow?

Is anyone else having this probelm??

I might have found a solution:

I used filemon - FS9 was looking for the file riversu_lm.bmp which was not there.
There is only riversu.bmp in the FS9/Scenery/World/Texture folder.

I made a copy of riversu.bmp in the FS9/Scenery/World/Texture folder and renamed it riversu_lm.bmp.

Result: no crash

Filemon is a good program.

That's really weird. So there is no such file as riversu_lm.bmp in the default FS9 files anywhere?

I see the riversu.bmp file in that folder but not the "LM" version.

Hawk do you have another addon scenery or land class file for that area that is not MAIW? Some other 3rd party scenery??

I disabled every scenery addon except what comes with this package.

FS9 crashes without riversu_lm.bmp, works with riversu_lm.bmp.

What filemon shows:
FS9 is looking for the following files (in this sequence)

Dark_Road.bmp
Dark_Road_LM.bmp
riversu.bmp
riversu_lm.bmp
Ground_Poly_Asphalt.bmp
Ground_Poly_Asphalt_LM.bmp
Ground_Poly_Concrete.bmp
Ground_Poly_Concrete_LM.bmp
Ground_Poly_Tarmac.bmp

When riversu_lm.bmp is not there, FS9 starts searching in every folder of my FS9 installation (more than 17.000 folders in total), stops and crashes.

Maybe some variable reaches the limit of its range/turns negative or there is a buffer overflow ?

Well, creating the file riversu_lm.bmp in FS9/Scenery/World/Texture folder solves the issue for me.
Copying one of the *_LM.bmp files that come with the package and renaming it riversu_lm.bmp will also have no visual effect in the scenery.

Hmmmm. What I would like to know is why it happens to one person only.

You don't have riversu_lm.bmp mentioned specifically in your terrain.cfg do you?

I have Gary Widup's scenery for Boise (boi2005.zip on avsim) and I was wondering if anyone has a AFCAD for this scenery that will add spaces for the new ANG AI that are there now.

I installed the sceneries, but still have to install the aircrafts. KLMT loads with no trouble at day, I'll what happens at dawn/dusk later and let you know!

There is just an entry for riversu.bmp in my terrrain.cfg

//Stream Lines
[Texture.1024] // stream lines / unknown / perennial
Type=1
Size=4
ExcludeAutogen=1
MaskClassMap=3
Textures=RiverSU.bmp
offset=-10

I just tried out the Kingsley Field scenery and my sim (FS9) also crashes at dusk and dawn.
