Murcia

Some attempts at modelling.

LELC

If you can identify what they are supposed to be I will continue.

Joking. Just started.

Thank you

I believe the tail gave it away.

The small aircraft on the right are also concept.

Early days. Still working through tutorials.

Well if people can recognise it at an early stage you are definitely on the right track.

The prop model is the Enaer T-35 Pillan where future pilots learn basic concepts to flight.

Thanks.

At least they are recognisable already.

I will make this the first project I actually complete.

Got a lot to learn still, though.

I will need help animate them, later.

Still a lot to do before then.

I will try to get the base done also.

Small step forward.

Still far to go. A great deal to learn still.

Textured the polygons to make it less odd.

I will make copies available.

I am using borrowed cfg and air files.

Can't tell if you are using it but you can use polygon smoothing groups to help create better definition for the airfoil surfaces.

I think I covered this in the tutorials but I don't remember.

It's looking great so far! Don't be shy to ask for help, there's more AI modelling knowledge around here than probably any other place on the net.

Thanks Mike.

I am using Gmax so the 3ds tutorials on U-tube are most helpful.

The wing fillet and the intakes are a rush job to see what they would look like.

Model converter X can convert the models to FSC format if it comes to that.

I feel I need to try stuff first so that when it comes to asking questions I can at least comprehend the answers.

I will need help with the animation. I will make my request when the time comes.

The real world beckons. I need to take a break from this for a week or two or at least spend less time on it.

A packet of basic odds and ends.

Afcad
Basic buildings

Basic flightplans

Back-up your own files of LELC if you have any.

For those of you despairing at the shape of the Pillan.

A little improvement.

The results of some tinkering.

Wings and intakes are temporary.

The model still needs a lot of improvement.

Check it out in "AI Aircraft Editor" in inspect normals mode.

Thank you for the kind words.

I am learning as I go along.

Thank you to all of you who have posted tips on the many forums. There is a lot of good info out there.
A number of really good tutorials and a lots of good hints from others.

I am experimenting with animations. Got a basic prop to work.

Working on the gear. Hopefully I can get that to work tomorrow.

I will ask for help in animating AI specific features once I can do the basics.

Hopefully an update for the Pillan soon.

Regards

Emerging from some frustration.

I managed to animate the prop and the gear.

The nose gear doors are beyond me at the moment.

There are now issues with the gear points. Perhaps to do with the animation.

This is where it is at for now. I need to take a break from this to do other stuff.

Hopefully more progress in a few weeks.

We've asked before but who could predict we'd have more aircraft modelers than package managers??
