Aircraft Developers

A2A Simulations

A2A stated that their current P3D v4 aircraft should be compatible with v5 (just copy the files over from v4 to v5) with the exception of a few features including windshield rain effect which will need updating to DX12. A2A Simulations does not have P3D v5 release candidate access at the moment and therefore will not be able to provide support from the initial release of P3D v5. They will work hard to revise code on a product by product basis to support v5. All updates from P3D v4 to P3D v5 will be free of charge.

Aerosoft

In a statement on the Aerosoft forums, Mathijs Kok said that aircraft tests appear to seem that they work fine with the new simulator. They are working on installers. No mention of any upgrade fees or whether it’ll be free.

Update: It has been confirmed that Aerosoft do not anticipate any update fees for their aircraft as there is limited work to be done.

Parallel 42

Speaking on their behalf, FSReborn developer confirmed that their partners at Parallel 42 will not be charging for ports of any of their products. This includes Chase Plane, Immersion packs, PerciptFX.

ChasePlane
– Free update for v5. You must migrate to the Orbx version (free license transfer)

PrecipitFX
– Not v5 compatible. FSX – P3Dv4 version now freeware forever. Prepar3D v5 means PercipitFX requires a major rework of this product.

Immersion Packs
– No official statement on whether updates will be free of not. Depends on how the aircraft developers port their planes to the platform.

737 v1 (NGX) — This product reached End of Line with the change to Prepar3D v4. It will continue to be available to consumers, as will support.

737 V2 (NGXu) — If the aircraft is updated by the dev for v5, we will follow.

717 — If the aircraft is updated by the dev for v5, we will follow.

747 — If the aircraft is updated by the dev for v5, we will follow.

777 — Remember what I said about special snowflakes? PMDG has made a statement about this aircraft getting quite the update, which will include a new -200ER variant. We’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.

787 — If the aircraft is updated by the dev for v5, we will follow.

A320 Family — This product reached End of Line with the change to Prepar3D v3. It will continue to be available to consumers, as will support.

Lear35 — If the aircraft is updated by the dev for v5, we will follow. However, we’re excited to announce that this product will be heading into the hangar for a quick tune-up to address a minor lighting alignment issue caused by a rework of the model by Flysimware. This fix will be pushed via Orbx Central for free.

Q400 — If the aircraft is updated by the dev for v5, we will follow.
