That spec ought to be enough, I have a lower spec than that and am running as well as FS9.

would having a 20" monitor mess things up? i was able to play it at a very low resolution, i can't remember exactly what it was but i know 1680x1050 was out of the question and that what i am running fs9 at and i couldn't stand playing with half of a screen on fsx.
i also noticed sp1 seemed to make it a little slower.

That does not sound right, SP1 should have improved things. If you have acceleration installed that should improve even further as adjustments have been made for dual core processors. If you don't have acceleration then I would suggest downloading SP2 update from FSInsider.

Your screen resolution is not helping! What memory do you have on the graphics card, the more the better for that resolution.
