INDIAN AIR FORCE BASES

Post by Stewart Pearson »

Hopefully nobody else has embarked upon this epic journey. :lol:

I am going to try to do ADE scenery for all the Indian Air Force bases and try and complete what Dan (Kungfuman) started off.

Have no idea when I'll get this done (if ever) so I'll probably release the scenery in batches of maybe 2 or 3 at a time.

Here's a sneeky peek;

Lovely stuff! I do like the way that we are starting to cover the whole world with scenery as well as aircraft.

Almost makes me want to drag out my old project files and see what can be salvaged. I had Gorakhpur VEGK nearly finished (only need objects & landclass) and Jamnagar VAJM about a third finished (needs parking spots, objects & landclass)

Next base in progress.

Post by Stewart Pearson »

Here's some screenshots of the next one of the Indian bases. This time it's Adampur (VIAX) in the Punjab, which is home to two Squadrons of Mig-29s.

Be a few days yet, but just as a taster;

1. Overview (it's a big base!!)

Yes indeedy - there are 5 different textures in the VTPP :shock:

2. Dispersal Ramp

3. Night Shot over Barracks Area

4. Cargo Apron at Night with static IL-76.

Very cool... The Canberra's were nicely exported... If we are lucky, we'll some of those same paints for the AI version before long.

Steward, may I request / suggest / kindly ask for an Indian place? I have been to Pune (VAPO/PNQ) several times in the past 2 years (FRA-PNQ-FRA on Lufthansa). I sometimes (IF I find the time to fire up my sim) fly from Mumbai to Pune (both default sceneries). It would be quite nice to have Pune Lohegaon Air Force Base in the sim :)

Before you ask me for information about this joint military/civil airport: I cannot provide :( The times I spent on this airport were only between 03:30 and 5:30 a.m. when it is always dark over there.

Thanks for considering!

Hi Jan,

No need to request it mate, as it is my intention to do every IAF base. Not sure when Pune will be done but keep an eye on this thread and the downloads one as well. :wink:

At the moment I'm kind of doing them two at a time - so just now, I am knee deep at Adampur and the huge transport base at Agra.

Stewart, take your time. I have a new system since 4 months now but yet did not have the time to get the basic sim installation on it :( In case you want me to do a beta test (FS9) for VAPO I'll be here and will install my sim. Just alert me a weekend in advance :)

Didn't someone do RATS vodka-burners in Indian AF colors before? I feel someone did them somewhere in the past...
