Is that the new OCP? (Isn't that the company that made Robocop).

I can put that in too and have some aircrews in both... since I understand there is an overlap period with both uniforms.

Yes, or multi-cam as we were calling the uniform in AFG, now everywhere. For the flyers, we were issued the OCP 2 piece "flightsuit" for deployments and now wear those exclusively. You do the same for your Pavehawk repaints, as the AF dudes wear them as well. Not long ago it was good enough to have a pilot figure in the AI model, now we are looking at what the AI pilot wears!

This is a nice package. Didn't MAIW make a official package with the Fort Hood Apaches?

Yes, the 21st BDE, and the Dutch training unit. Click filled out the base.

Whilst replacing the JFAI UH-60s and checking I hadn't missed any I discovered that the latest batch, as well as your repaints, has the original JFAI textures in the majority of the folders.
Is this intentional or am I getting myself all confused again!!

That looks like a good news, bad news stupid mistake on my part, and I know exactly how it happened. Instead of making all new folder names, I simply copied over the JFAI folders... and I thought deleted the contents out of them (which is interesting because if you check the FSX folders I did). Then I stuffed the JYAI contents into the folders. The good news is that I checked all the folders and each one has the required JYAI textures, so you shouldn't be missing anything. The bad news is that you have unnecessary JFAI textures taking up space. Anything that doesn't start with JYAI can be deleted.

FYI
[fltsim.X+21]
title=UH-60L 94-26569

texture in fltsimX.txt
texture=2-227 94-26568 should read texture=2-227 94-26569

Wow!! That Fort Hood is really something!

The place is so well camouflaged.

Hills here, trees there, houses innocently hiding Apache helicopters.

I was stunned.

Well, disappointed actually.

I obviously have something in my FS2004 that doesn't agree with the scenery included in the package.

I don't want to sound aggressive or anything, but does anyone know how I can flatten the place!

Easily, that is - so that trees, mountains, hills and houses will all disappear and Fort Hood can show up in all its glory, aircraft parked, landing and taking off - because I am missing all this action at the moment.

A nice flattening .bgl or the like would be good.

Mind you, when I took the Fort Hood package out again and went to the default KHLR, it was no better! Just an empty airport with no parking spaces, covered in hills, greenery and houses.

I believe that AI traffic continues even though there are obstacles all over the place, so perhaps I should put in the Fort Hood scenery again and just not visit the place!

They probably don't want visitors like me anyway.

Thanks for the package, by the way.

Walter
Thanks,

Walter

That's certainly a problem, but it's not one being caused by the scenery if it was properly installed. House and Tree autogen isn't caused by bad flattens. Those should be excluded by the airport background textures. Hills should be getting killed by the ramps and taxiways, which act as micro-flattens. Do you by chance have a mesh installed that covers the Central Texas area?

How did you install the scenery? Did you copy the whole folder over, activate it and push it to the top of the stack, or just copy the contents out of the folder and into addon scenery\scenery?

Thanks for the reply, Clickclickdoh.

I have FSGenesis mesh for all of the US.

I copied the complete package to Addon Scenery and then activated the scenery within FS2004, at the top.

I am not in the least bit critical of the new Fort Hood scenery, (although I would love to see it working well, as I am sure it was designed to do), since the default airport suffers the same breakthroughs.

The new parts of the Fort Hood area also suffer from the same problem.

Thanks

Walter

As an experiment, could you try to run FS9 with FSGenesis disabled to see if that causes the issue to go away? Obviously not the solution we are working towards, but I remember something about FSGenesis not playing nice with some addons and want to see if we can identify the culprit.

Also, could you confirm that there are 43 files in the Fort Hood\scenery folder. Just to make sure something important didn't go missing.

Hi,

I disabled FSGenesis for Texas (some very disgruntled Texans were very narky about this!!).

I attach images for the resulting scenery showing from Rwy 34. (Behind, Left, Right, Ahead)

No big differences there as far as I can see.

I can confirm 43 files in the scenery folder.

Look for and delete any kgrk afcad files that didnt come with the download. The default kgrk file has an apron for some reason at khlr, which screws up the elevation. If anyone makes a kgrk afcad mod and doesnt know about the wayward apron, you get what is in your pictures.

Hi,

found a KGRK afcad and deleted it.

What a difference!

Fort Hood in all of its glory!

Reinstated FSGenesis Texas and all is still fine.

Thanks for the help.

Another very satisfied customer :D

There are massive updates to that pack "real world".

click, thanks for the fixed wing additions, as you included my current unit. The tail #'s change quite a bit. Also, 6-52 has one of the few UC-35s painted in the new matte gray finish, 96-0111 (unlike the USMC -35s flying in gloss 2 tone gray).

Just want to confirm these are JYAI UH-60 repaints and fixed wing added to your original package, scenery for the fields and LZs are the same?
