Yokota Air Force Base

Post by clickclickdoh »

As teased in the JASDF thread, Yokota Air Force Base has it's own project now headed to the Download Hangar.

What is included in the package:

Paints, models, VCPmod and flight plans for 14 HTAI C-130Hs and 3 HTAI C-12Js:

A new scenery for Yokota Air Force Base:

What else do you get? Operation Christmas Drop, an annual tradition involving aircraft from the 36th Airlift Squadron working with airmen from Anderson Air Force Base and volunteers from Guam. Flying missions to isolated islands scattered around the Pacific, the aircraft drop packages containing fishing nets, construction materials, powdered milk, canned goods, rice, coolers, clothing, shoes, toys and school supplies.

The flight plans included in this project are set up so that on Monday morning, four C-130Hs from the 36th Airlift squadron will leave Yokota for Anderson Air Force Base. They will spend the week flying missions to small islands scattered around the Pacific before returning to Yokota Friday night

Didn't MAIW make a Yokota package years ago? I think I remember seeing a Yokota C-130 in my sim while touring Japan (I could be wrong though).

I will have to go searching my files to see if Yokota is in there.

Edit: I do have Yokota C-130's. But I can't find the traffic file so I can delete them.

Edit #2: I found the traffic File. It is Traffic_USAF_Yokota_AB.bgl. Not sure if it was a MAIW package or not.

Mark released a paint & flightplan mini package back in 2008. Since then the C-12Js were repainted from the old white scheme to a gray scheme and many of the C-130H serial numbers have changed.

That is probably what it was. Now I know what to delete when this new package comes out. :)

The Yokota update has been sent to the Hangar.

Big changes:

- Now has a FSX native version of the project included
- Brand new JYAI C-130J-30s have replaced the now retired C-130Hs from the previous verison
- Yokota now has it's own CV-22 attachment
