MBAI CH53 series

Post by Fokket50 »

As mentioned before, I have been working for some time on the CH53 models.
And I can announce that it is in the final stages. All lods, versions and the fde/air are done, thanks to Steve Holland and Chris Brown.

At the moment I am finishing the textures for the different users.
The model has ofcourse the usual XML tricks, including the VTOL operations.

Included are the:
CH53G/CH53GS for HEER (germany) and Austria
S65 for Israel
HH53 for Mexico
CH53A and CH53D for the USMC
RH53D for the USN
HH53, MH53H and MH53M for the USAF

Stay tuned for more.

Hi Menno, great and long awaited news!!! :smt003

It would be great to know how many helos you've painted for Israel and the radius of the model, so I could start a refurbishment of Tel Nof, where they are based.

Thanks, Giorgio

Yes, knowing the radius of the model might come in handy for erm.. uh... a project that might, or might not, be underway. Also, I believe that all HEER CH-53GA/GS are now with GAF. Not that anyone should use that little factoid to predict anything...

Hi Giorgio,

At the moment I have done 14 choppers for Tel Nof, and the parking radius is set at 12 meters.
I can do more repaints , just need a bit more research on the serial numbers that are active. eg : I have repainted 666, but that would be retro as it crashed in 1996, it would make a nice package with a new scenery.

All HEER were transferred to the GAF, but as I am more into retro I only did repaints for HEER at the moment

Hi. Did you managed to resize it. Still have the initial model you sent me and it was considerably smaller than Rory Kelly's model. Even when compared to the Blackhawks, it looks small.

Small update: the textures are almost done, only the extra IAF serials and some small updates on the others to do.
I have found some small issues, most are texture related, and I have to remap some textures, but with all the different versions, it takes some time.

@Lewis: I have done some resizing, because as you noticed it was too small. But I am still adjusting it to find the correct size.

This means that the mentioned parking radius of 12 meters is not correct, that was from the old model. my mistake. I will give an update when I have it.
