Thanks Fin, as a matter of fact I uploaded the package to the MAIW library this morning, hopefully it passes quality control soon.

Wish I could remember the tail# of the Nimrod I partied in post air show at NAS Brunswick, ME in the late 90s. Great job on the model.

When we'd the hemp colour it used to be good fun sitting out on "the beach" at displays. Open the over wing escape hatches and a large expanse of sandy wing to party on. Changing to the grey scheme spoiled the illusion. Happy days.

Well done Henk, that's a beautiful and realistic model (FSX screen shot):

I would have thought that the fuselage cross section and the air intakes were probably the most difficult to get right, but you have done a great job there. I also liked the accuracy of the nosewheel steering and those unusual nose wheel doors.

Have you been particularly clever with the embedded smoke? I'm assuming it's linked to the throttle, because sometimes it's off and sometimes on. That I understand, but at some points in the circuit I set up, only one smoke showed (left side).

It's a fantastic achievement for any model, but so good to see for a first attempt.

Here's to the next one!

John & Ray, thanks for the kinds words of appreciation. The attached engine smoke effect has a visibility tag which is supposed to activate smoke when throttle is above 15 %. I just checked and found the bug you have seen: The left engine is OK but the right engine uses a different throttle threshold (50%).

Henk.
It wasn't unusual for one side to be smokier than the other in real life. Not just when we'd one shutdown and one idleing either.
You've done a fantastic job on my old home, thank you so very much.

Brilliant!

And now I'm really spoilt for choice. I have my traffic & some scenery set to switch between modern & retro, with the retro being pretty random from late 60s to early 2000s.

I think I'll go with the version I threw up in as an Air Cadet :-p

I just updated the package in the library to v1.1. This fixes the wrong right engine smoke throttle threshold.

You can also download the updated models only from my cloud space, simply replace the old ones with the new files:

Thank you for giving us such a great model. St Mawgan and Kinloss look so much better for having a really decent Nimrod.

I don't suppose you would consider releasing a paint kit. I fancy having a go at the A&AEE Raspberry Ripple scheme.

Thanks

Delboy99, you can download my paint kit here (54Mb zip file):

https://app.box.com/s/id2uf7pvqtazyx8lxa8snwgrr8eiodvb

The zip file includes 2 file sets (2048 pixel): The original Corel Paintshop Pro (.pspimage) files and Adobe Photoshop (.psd) copies. There is one big master file (HSAI_Nimrod_T.pspimage / HSAI_Nimrod_T.psd) and several clones with less layers for making new serials quickly.
