MiG-31 SBAI

Post by bismarck »

Hi all, this is a very little job I've done.
Please, be gentle... :D I'm not a painter.
I've just copy/paste some numbers, nothing more.
46 repaints, 23 blue, 21 red, 1 yellow and 1 white.
33059-USSR-Kaz-MiG-31-SBAI.zip on Avsim.ru needed

If someone is interested, drop me a PM.

EDIT: I didn't use the model.st because the ladder remains attached and the canopy remains opened. If someone could sort this out....

Is that because it may be a static model? Hence the "st"? I haven't got FS loaded up at the moment due to a HD failure so I can't look at the moment but that would be my guess :)

EDITED FOR PRAISE: BTW they look good though

You are right Deryl.
It's for static. It's written in the readme file, I didn't remember

My flightplans use three different bases.
ULKS Kotlas Savvatia
USPP Perm Bolshoye Savino
Z25B Kansk Kansk Dalniy

All of these bases have some sort of basic scenery found on Avsim.ru

I know there are at least two other bases (accordingly to Wikipedia):

790th Interceptor Aviation Regiment - MiG-31, MiG-25U - Khotilovo
530th Interceptor Aviation Regiment - HQ at Sokolovka - MiG-25PU, MiG-31;

Don't know if there are images for these or if they are visible in Google Earth.

So, I do not have specific request.
If you want to start with one of these, it's your choice

Thanks, Giorgio

Nice paints Bismarck, I look forward to adding them to my FS9

The Russian Air force have made some major reforms in thier airforce with many bases
being closed air craft being redeployed.

Air Forces magazine has an artical in thier Dec. 2010 edition. It deals with the redeployment
of the tactical airforce.

Acording to them the Mig 31's are based a these bases or will be shortly.

Savasleyeka air base 3958 2 squadrons

Kotlas no base number given 1 squadrons

Khotilovo air base 6968 2 squadrons

Kansk air base 6979 2 squadrons

Bolshoye Savino air base 6077 2 squadrons

Sorry that there is airport codes. It appears that they use base numbers now although I'm not sure of that.

Air forces Magazine feels that after 2009 only 100 air frames are operational with the rest being
scraped or used for spare parts.

Since several days I try to install this AI Traffic in FS9.

But the MiG-31 does not show...

I have installed many hundreds of aircrafts, traffic bgls and sceneries.
I have checked the aircraft folder by AIAE, all fine. I have checked the traffic file with AIFP and the Traffic and Parking Analyzer, all fine.
But when I go to an airport like USSS at the time when a MiG31 should be there, the traffic file is not loaded (checked by "Tools - report" of the traffic SDK).

When I replace all MiG31 by another aircraft all is okay...
The SBAI MiG-31 has a reference speed of 1340. Is there a speed limit for AI aircrafts?

Oh my God!

Shame on me, I had not clicked the box of "general aviation" in options - settings -traffic!

MiG-31 is "general aviation" in AI traffic.

Adding a line "atc_airline=AIRFORCE" to all flightsim.xx sections by AIAE solved the problem.
