I have this power supply and some of the features I like is the amount of power, you only plug in the cords you need (less restricted air flow) I am running dual graphic cards but only started with 1 and I was glad that I went with a larger ps so down the road you dont have to upgrade.

What's the cost difference springing for the i7 (or is there not really a margin of efficency/noticeable difference vs the i5?)

Not really sure but I figured this CPU was the best in value for what I wanted to pay. I'll post pics soon. Need to put in a DVD drive and install the OS.

I have the OS installed and overclocked the cpu to 4.0. Everything is running great so far. Temperatures at idle at 33C. I need to run prime95 and see how she does under some pressure. It's F.A.S.T.

You should have no problems getting it up to 4.6 or higher even, I have my 2500K at 4.6 simply with a Corsair A50 heatsink with a much quieter GELID Silent 12 fan on it. It's almost silent and rarely gets over 50C.. Idles at 30-33.

All sliders set on max in FSX with Nellis I am still getting around 10 fps but there are no stutters.
I don't have FS9 installed.

Acceleration installed and fps now around 30...all sliders at max. No commercial or GA though.

Ur screenshot shows single memory mode, U got those RAM cards in right slots?
Should u not have dual mode?

Edit, just read the manual for your mother board and the memory needs to be in A1 and B1

Correction:
That was with my HTAI package installed.
Now with REX at maximum:
I'm getting about 12-20 along the flight plan. It's pretty smooth, though. Again, there is no stuttering.

Dan

So with REX and no other traffic, sliders at max, you are getting 12-20fps?
Any addons for scenery/mesh?
Thought it would be more than that

Yeah I have just about everything. Can't pay too much attention to fps. Is it smooth? I only get a little choppy at Nellis...but Manhatten is smooth as can be. Go figure.

I'm convinced there are just some things FSX doesn't like or play well with from FS9 (AI models, etc). Also, look out for tweak guides. They've made a difference. FS was just a poorly programmed mess.
