I am thinking about getting it and just wondered what version you have and what version you think is the best?

Kind Regards

And I have been using PSP 8 for ages but also have Corel PaintshopPro X4 that I haven't got to use a lot yet.

I'm using PSP 8.10 and have been for quite a few years. I haven't tried any of the later versions that were released after JASC joined up with Corel.

    Ditto.

Tried the later version though and couldn't seem to make the transision, so stayed with 8.1 .

I've been using PSP7 for over 10 years now - I tried 8, couldn't get the hang of it, but despite using it for all that time, I still don't know half the stuff it does but from what I've seen, the newer versions are quite more powerful.

If you are using Win 7, then you better get PaintShop Pro X. The older versions aren't really compatable with Win 7, however, PSP X works perfect. It has a number of very useful new features, especially if you are interested in creating textures using photo's. Can be bought pretty cheap if you look around. I got mine from an associated vendor on Amazon.com. You don't really need the top end version, which has lots of utilities of interest to professional photog's only!

I started with 7 and jumped up to 10 a few years later.
Take the plunge guys, it's well worth the change.

Its a good point Ron made.

I use Win7 and PSP8 mainly but after running for some time in one session PSP8 becomes unreliable and does some strange things. I have got in the habit of making sessions shorter and saving/closing/reopening PSP8 quite often to ensure integrity.

Certainly not worth all that hassle, when even on the Corel site you can have it for $30 US. I still say, if you look around, you can get it for a few bucks less than that! http://www.corel.com/corel/product/inde ... id=2500058
