OK Gents,
I have an issue with editvoicepack and on the face of it it should be solve-able but the answer has eluded me.
The scenario. A new FS9 installation on a new pc, windows 7 x64, and I still have access to me old installation. I have installed EVP, which was a right saga in it's own right, and I copied over my old USEnglishBig.gvp which is 482k.
All seems to be well but when I load up EVP none of the custom notifications that I spent years putting in appear in the menu. Worse still is that when I then load up an vcpmod and save it the file size goes down to 334k and I have lost all of my previous updates.
So my problem is that. How do i get EVP to load up and recognise all the mods in the previous installation?
I can't believe that you have to lose all your mods when you transfer to a new PC. Anybody got any experience/help?

Ehm Steve,
Copy over the following file from your original sound folder;
Evp_Accelerated.gvp
if you (like me) use the accelerated voice feature.
If you don't, there still should be an EVP.gvp type file in there - that's the one you're missing mate.

I think that I may know what is missing. In the EVP folder itself is a file called EditVoicepackData.xml and this is what I think that EVP uses. That folder was not saved so I guess that 7 years of collecting has been lost. F#@K.

If you've still got your original copy, you should be able to use the backup feature to create a new file, which you can import into the new copy.

Nope just retried. It seems to export only the Standard Mods plus the custom mods covered by the xml file I mentioned earlier.

Ehm there is an EVP back up I created in November which you're welcome to have a go at - it's in me folder on the ftp.
Might save you a bit of time.
If that doesn't work let me know and I'll create an up to date backup and upload it together with my XML file.

I can confirm that what I thought is indeed the case. All you need is the xml file for the EVP folder. That is what gets loaded when EVP is run and you can then 'Update Voicepack' to recreate your gvp file. Your xml file has reloaded an awful lot of what I had before. Thanks.
So for anybody else out there take a back up of your EditVoicepackData.xml file and you can then recreate your evp loads on another computer.
