FS9 doesn't start

Hello all, today my FS9 doesn't start anymore... :evil:
The startup screen appears, and then nothing. It stays there for ages (just the C-172 in the aircraft dir).
This already happened some time in the last days, but after a PC reboot all went normal.
Tried to copy the original FS9,exe NOCD. No result.
I think to something related with the last windows updates. The last win updates installed are dated 15 Oct. Unistalled one of them and took some minutes, there are a lot of updates with that date and I don't want to spend a lot of time deleting them if not needed.

Any suggestion please?

OK a simple thing that people forget is that there was the original FS9 then there was the update FS9.1 .
If you have FS9.1 installed then the NoCD for FS9 will not work, you need the NoCD for FS9.1.

To save all the hunting around IF you are using FS9.1 then rename FS9.exe and place this one in it's place.

Thanks Steve, it's the same file I have. (at least it has the same dimension in Kb)
BTW, ten minutes after I posted this, FS9 starts again...
This is a laptop inherited from work, and there are a lot of processes running at startup but no more needed for my own use. I considered many times to tidy up it, may be it come the time to do it...
In the mean time, thanks for the help.

Giorgio,

I read in another forum that an MS Windows update named KB3086255 is preventing FS9 from opening consistently for some and anyone experiencing this just has to delete this update to get it open consistently again.

I hope this helps.

    Yep that is the one. It turns off the ability for anything using the safedisc protection to run.

    mine did the same over the weekend! I just installed the 'NOCD' & works fine now, bloomin pain or what!!

    As I said, I have just to wait 2 or 3 minute after my desktop appears. After that time, FS9 starts as usual. It must be related to some of the unnecessary processes running at startup.
    BTW, I unistalled the update you mentioned.
