F-16 - South Carolina ANG Block 52's

Post by tandccongos »

Just an FYI for FS9 users for the "AI Lockheed Martin F-16 - South Carolina ANG Block 52's (WSMG)" that was just released. I'm getting a "SIM1.dll" crash (CTD) when I go to KMMT scenery or fly anywhere near it. Seems to be a corrupt texture with the F-16CM/DM but I verified all the textures were in DXT3 format.

Just thought I'd throw it out there and maybe the developer can find a faulty texture somewhere?

Thanks,

Does it happen anywhere else?
The reason that I ask is that from what you say the chances are that the problem is with the textures for KMMT.

Chris, I just loaded up a flight that was well away from McEntire, I flew towards McEntire and right over the top with full scenery sliders and max AI settings and nothing crashed.

I wonder if one of the AI textures or scenery textures got corrupted at some point when you installed them??

I get no crashes in or around KMMT. Can you load up your sim with just the new F16 AI and no 3rd party scenery and see if it still crashes. If it does then there may be a problem with your download. I suspect it may be a problem with a scenery texture file in that area. I had the same problem once and it turned out to be a 32bit texture on a B777 that flew close by at certain times (took me ages to locate it).

Did you put the 12 texture files in the world/texture folder? Without those textures the sim will crash at KMMT.

I removed the new F-16CM/DM from the FP's and went to KMMT and no crash. Only when I add teh new F-16's does it crash so I know it's something with planes. I will take Joseph's approach and put the 12 texture in the world/texture folder and see what transpires.

Can I check that it was exactly the same time of day that you went to KMMT both with and without F-16s?

I figured it out. The .air file in the Aircraft folder was 0 KB. Once I replaced it with a newly downloaded .air file from MAIW, I started FS9 and VIOLA!!!

Thanks for all your help, guys!!

If your using FSX, you have to take out anything that starts with a "V" in the McEntire Add-On scenery file, i.e., "VTTP *.*". That always works for me and removes any scenery issues.
