Which Joystick?
Which Joystick?
My third Logitech Joystick has just started the "I'm going left and your not going to stop me thing". I am not going to get another logitech, so what would you all recommend?

Re: Which Joystick?
Hi Mark
My favourite is CH-products Fighterstick USB together with Pro-Pedals despite there is no force feedback. I was never able to decide whether to buy the Throttle-Quadrant or the Pro-Throttle. So I am living fine using the two only I am having them for several years now. hence I think despite the price they are god value for money!
See: http://www.chproducts.com/retail/index.html
I would buy the same again!

I use the saitek x52, it is able to set up 3 different profiles, and has many programable buttons.

Re: Which Joystick?
I've had the Saitek for about two years and it is tops. I've had others in the past - CH ,Logitek, Microsoft Sidewinder and the Saitek is the best so far.
The programmable feature of the buttons and three different profiles sure helps when switching betueen low & slow - high & fast and helos.

Re: Which Joystick?
I had a series of Logitech joysticks which all went wrong at the yaw potentiometer. I bought the Saitek X52 about 3 years ago and haven't had a single fault. Apart from that it is much more responsive than any other joystick I've used.

Re: Which Joystick?
Another vote for the X52. Had mine for ages and I still love it. The profiling software is great too, I program all sorts of macros in it for different programs.
I don't think I could model in FSDS without the shortcuts I've programmed into the throttle's buttons

Re: Which Joystick?
I've had 2 logitechs in the past 10 years. And I also use it for sim racing.
But, if I were to buy one, the Saitek would get the nod next time.

Hmm-better add my name to the long list of people who've got the X52-it's great!
Thoroughly recommended

I've have the X-52, and want to upgrade to the Pro, however, the X-52 is plenty good if you don't want to pay for the much higher priced Pro.
Not only the program-ability makes this the one to buy. It centers positively and accurately. The stick is adjustable to fit your hand perfectly, and has support to allow you hand to rest. The throttle is nearly perfect, and a must for a jet jockey!
Just my humble opinion.

I'm still with the X45 and its served me well. I came across an announcement for the X65 the other day. Now that does look interesting !

Re: Which Joystick?
I've got a cheap ST290 from Saitek.
http://www.saitek.com/uk/prod/st290pro.htm
It's a poor man's stick, but it gets the job done. It's been dropped, carried all over the country, had numerous drinks spilled on it, and it's still working nearly four years later.

Re: Which Joystick?
Well, after reading this thread I got to thinking I needed a new
toy for X-mas and so made the plunge.
Arriving at work this Lunchtime I was thrilled to find a nice big box
waiting for me. Inside the X52 Pro, which seemed to be the best
regarded on the forums.
Now all I have to do is find time to switch on my FS Box and load it
up.
Bah humbug
