HM-14 Squadron's MH-53 Sea Dragons

Post by Joecoastie »

I've up loaded repaints and a small traffic file for 9 of the MH-53's of HM-14.
Should work in both FS9 & FSX. P3D ?

Yes, I asked the question before I downloaded the paints. Now where do I find the base model? The read me doesn't say.

I apologize for not including a source for the AI model of the MH-53. I have searched FlightSim, Avsim and Hovercontrol libraries and I have no idea where it came from. I may have made it myself years ago (FS2002) following the instructions found in "AI Helicopters 101: 'Jet Ranger Starter Kit'" by Holger Sandmann (aiheli_1.zip - Avsim and FlightSim).

One model can also be found in "hawaiian_airports_part_2.zip" by George Keogh in Avsim. However it does not include the "model.2" folder of the Sea Dragon.

Being as it is not my work I do not feel I can up load the AI aircraft file.

Are there any mods required to the AFCADs to accommodate the CH-53s, struggling to get them to appear.

Make sure the parking code is correct between the aircraft config file and the AFCAD, and I set the parking to 80ft diameter.

For some strange reason I had to set the parking slot radius to 80ft even tho' the Aircraft editor says the aircraft radius is 23ft??

I've also got this problem, any ideas?

Hi,

try as I might, the helicopters I see are armed with torpedoes and have guys (/gals) hanging out of every opening with machine guns. :-)

Image

I had to change the model from 2 in the aircraft.cfg file...

Not what I see in the image 9 or 10 entries below...

Thanks

Walter

You downloaded the PAVELOW version, use the links in the posts above, in those files there is a MODEL and MODEL 1, use the MODEL file for the Sea Dragon fuselage type

Thank you, Navychief88... Perfection Personified... :-)

Walter

EDIT: Or, there again, mebbe I congratulated myself too soon. :-(

Went back in to look at the AI helicopters - found them in 3NGU. Armed and dangerous!!!

Not the sleek one I had seen just moments ago when I had the .air file entry changed to 0, had selected the MH-53 as my aircraft and was looking at the preview. :!:

I have changed the .air file back to 2, have replaced the model with the one from pavelow0369, and been in and out of the sim a few times, but I still cannot repeat that moment of joy.

I obviously fouled up in some fashion.

Maybe tomorrow will bring some light... :-)

MORE EDITS:

Couldn't wait for tomorrow when I saw Gregs image...

Went back to the very start, worked carefully through it, followed all of the advice, and IT WORKS!!

Thanks

Walter
