Not strictly military

Post by JohnTenn »

I have been off the reservation for a while.

Learned a few things out there.

These are done with PSP X5. A work around for the shadow layer previously not useable in the FAIB paint kits, to me anyway.
Paint kit 2048x2048.

DXT 3 textures create an issue with the fuselage roundel.

Would somebody be willing take a look.
1. Should the white fringe be removed from the DXT 3 roundel?
2. There is no forward satcom dome on the model, should the TV dome be used or have none?

I will take a look, as I only use DXT3. PM me what you have got.

From the looks of that pic the roundel is surrounded by white, and there is definitely a radome on top so I would say use wht you have got even if the radome is not an exact match.
After all we have not been using exact F-16 matches for nearly a decade now.

OK John,
I have had a look. There definitely needs to be more white around roundel on the fuselage, as per the link above.
The only other thing that stands out to me is the 'ROYAL AUSTRALIAN AIR FORCE'. After checking it appears that the font seems the right height and it seems that the wording is the right length but it seems too bright.

My gut feeling here is that the red is probably the same as the other red in the national logos so therefore I think that what you may need is a slightly thinner version of the font.

They are the only things that stand out on initial checking.

Does this help?

Thanks to Steve's input, we have a better version.

Unless I get a request for changes I will attempt to upload the textures here and at Avsim this evening.

The flightplans I have, I think come from the original World of AI G BBJ pack at Avim. I will not be uploading them.

Textures will be in DXT3 and a TGA in 2048x2048 format.
