25 Sqn

Post by Firebird »

Gents,
Now that 25 Sqn is established on the Hawk T2, has anybody done any schemes for them?

I assume that half of the 4 Sqn compliment has moved over to 25 Sqn.

Steve, i dont have a list of the airframes that are being used by 25 Sqn, however im always looking on the usual sites to see if any new pictures emerge of the Hawks wearing 25Sqn Markings, so far i have done!

It looks like the top end serials are being used for 25 Sqn up to now..

ZK026
ZK028
ZK029
ZK031 ? No images but confirmation (Has recently been seen flying around with no Squadron markings)
ZK032
ZK036 ? No images but Confirmation (Has recently been seen flying around with no Squadron markings)

I also have a full set of Texan T1's )MFTS) for Valley

Much thanks

It sounds like you are on the case, Mark.

I also think that there is little point in releasing incomplete units so it makes sense to do nothing at the moment.

Are you going to release the Texans, or are you waiting to release a complete Valley package?

Steve, at the moment im not too sure when to release the Texans, i know 72 Squadrons Tucanos will retire later in the year and 72Sqn will move to RAF Valley to fly the Texans which could mean they will get 72s Markings, its just one of those wait and see moments!!

Much thanks

Mark

Hi
I am a bit confused. The aircraft CFG for the 25Sqn repaints is the same as the CFG for the 4 Sqn hawks so on loading FSX there is a popup saying all the aircraft serial numbers are duplicated. Am I having a senior moment or does this need some rectification?

Regards Paul Day.

What I think is happening is that you have some other 4 Sqn paints in your system.

Originally all T2s were allocated to 4(R) Sqn. They are now allocated to 4(R) and 25(R) sqn. In essence 4(R) gave 25(R) sqn some of its Hawks. Does this help clear it up at all?

Hi
I understand that some of 4 Sqn aircraft have been moved to 25 Sqn but everything is duplicated at the moment. What I have are 28 airframes in 4 Sqn colours and 28 aircraft in 25 Sqn colours. I would assume the should be 14 airframes in each squadron, or there abouts .I remember back in the day when I was on 208 Squadron Buccaneers, we had 15 aircraft .

What Steve has actually done is supply all T2s. There are only 28 in service. The pack is not 25 sqn only.

They include the 4 and 25 sqn not just 25 sqn aircraft. If you check each scheme in his pack you will see that ZK010-ZK024 are in 4 sqn colours and ZK025-ZK037 are in 25 sqn colours.

Hi Steve
Thanks for the clarification. Just visited RAF Valley and all is good. I should have read one of the above quotes by Rusty 1.

72 Sqn have indeed taken on the Texans now that the "Tincans" have gone from service.
Callsign are "Rocket","Swift","Meteor" and "VYTxxx" or "Valleyxxx" plus "Blazer" and "Uzi"

A set for Fs9 Valley would be great.

Question, were the Hawk T2 repaints for RAF Valley ever uploaded to the library?

If so my search-foo is as defective as usual, if not, does anyone have a copy they could share with me?

thanks
