Italians in Afghanistan and Lebanon

Post by james84 »

Hello all,
a user on the Italian forum Aviazionecivile.com is a member of the Italian Armed Force and has a Flickr account with many interesting photos. He recently uploaded some taken during his latest trip to Afghanistan on the new KC-767

Good short article in the February issue of Combat Aircraft Monthly magazine covering the JATF in Herat. Pics of the RQ-1, AMX, C-130J and EH101 in Afghanistan.

US soldiers flying the C-17 from Manas to Afghanistan. Definitely not a very comfortable way of flying

Silly question: are the weapons loaded with ammo or not?

ah that rare look inside a Whoop Ass can. as for the weapons, I highly doubt it, although clips may be nearby.

Way better than a stuffed C-130. Love the center seats and sat the same way from Manas this tour. On R&R in December, got the whole cargo bay to myself and 8 buddies, once in cruise we spread out on the floor for nap time.

My last flight out of Bagram I got to ride on the Flight Deck of a C-130J-30 all the way to Manas. The J model is a pretty sweet ride.
