Hi Christopher,

Truly it will be a sad sad day when the SLUF is finally retired from the HAF (One of my all time favourite aircraft up there with the best)

Family circumstances prevent any travel to Greece this year (the first break in 12 years) so my only consolation is FS9, which more than adequately covers this fabulous aircraft and the beauty of Greece

Great vid, it was your projects and me finally downloading the MAIW HAF A-7 pack that brought the Razbam FSX A-7 out of my hangar again. One of the few FS aircraft you have to really pay attention while flying. I joined the USN too late to see them in service, only a few Royal Thai SLUF's that went trough depot maintenance at NAS Jacksonville, FL in the mid-90's.

October seems all too close, just wish I could get to RIAT next weekend where 2 will be in the static display, but hopefully some nice photographers will post lots of photo's especially on arrivals/departures day

Since a couple off hours there are big rumors at some Greek forums that the aircraft has won a 1st place at the RIAT 2014 Air Tattoo!

The A7 crews won the well earned Cocourse d'Elegance trophy. This is awarded to the best presented aircraft at the Air Tattoo

DISPLAY TEAMS TAKE RIAT HONOURS

The Best Paint Scheme award, for the aircraft with the best special livery, went to the Hellenic Air Force A-7E Corsair II from 336 Olympos Sqn. The trophy was presented by Gardiner Porter, Government of Military Aviation Jeppesen.
Major Apostolos Papadopoulos said: "We were very glad to be here, to support RIAT and the Charitable Trust. This is the last time the A-7 will be presented outside Greece and that makes this award very special."

Some excellent pictures around from RIAT, just so glad they made it one last time before retirement and the award was the icing on the cake

Just one niggle....they should have left 154477 in it's "natural" state and not tried to tart the old girl up ....just my personal opinion!
