Post by drydocker »

Hi all. Does anybody know what aircraft replaced the c-141 for the mac flights out of Andrews? And I want to say thanks for all the great work you guys are doing.

It's probably a mix of C-5 and C-17s doing those flights now. The last C-141 outfit at Wright-Patterson AFB Ohio transitioned to the C-5B Galaxy, but I don't know if they've picked those flights up yet.

Yep, their last plane went right into the Air Force Museum on the base. They are getting C-5B from the different sqaudrons that are currently flying them. The last C-141 flight made was the same plane that brought the POW's back from Vietnam. She was still in the same paint scheme that she wore during that flight, and I believe the plane had the nickname "Hanoi Taxi"

Yep and the AI C-141 becomes the first military AI model to be officially retired.............Instead of going to the boneyard it gets a permanet place in the "trash" folder. :)

It would be fun to make a real boneyard like the one in Tucson. Hmmm....project!

That's pretty much what's happening in reality. IIRC most if not all C-141's are going to the recycle bin, instead of a parking spot in Arizona.
