So KCs and V-22s to Germany but the RCs stay in the UK, but doesn't say whether it will be Lakenheath or Waddo. My guess will be the later for logistics.
Can't see the RAF using the Hall again, although it would be useful, seeing they have just spent so much on updating Brize.
The download hangar is currently disabled. We're doing our best to bring it back as soon as possible.

Its Mildenhall, Alconbury and Molesworth that are closing. Lakenheath will be the only F-35 base in Europe. Tankers moving to Germany. I assume RCs will move with the tankers.

You would think so, John, but the USAF article says that the RCs will move to another base in the UK. What it doesn't say is Lakenheath. Hence why I think it will be Waddo, although it could be Fairford.

Fairford would be ideal. Its a big base not be used on regular basis. Don't think it'll be Waddo, its unusual for the USAF to share facilities with a "foreign" air force on a permanent basis.

The USAF shared Soesterberg Air Base with the Royal Netherlands Air Force from 1954 till 1994.VulcanDriver wrote:Fairford would be ideal. Its a big base not be used on regular basis. They also still share Kunsan Air base with the Republic of Korea air force.
So sharing a base with the RAF won't be problem I think

Yes you're right, it would make sense to have the USAF RCs at Waddo where the RAF ones are.

Waddo makes the most sense to me aswell, The RAF and USAF can share maintenance, logistics, hangers, ground personal and even onboard crew. In my view it would be the most efficient and effective choice for both air forces.VulcanDriver wrote:Yes you're right, it would make sense to have the USAF RCs at Waddo where the RAF ones are.

That settles it then, working on that logic it's got to be....
