Tailcodes For Local Unit

Post by Reggie »

So it appears that my home unit, the 188th Wing in Ft. Smith, Arkansas has been assigned a new mission. The 188th is getting the Singapore training mission from Luke in both F-16's and F-35's.

I was just wondering if the aircraft will have the standard USAF paint with "FS" tail code as before, Singapore paint schemes, or some specially assigned tail code.

What's the norm?

At least for the Vipers, which I see here all the time at Luke AFB, they carry "LF" tails. That said, the other countries conducting initial F-35 training at Luke run line jet markings, I assume for the eventual move to their home country.
