Thanks. Since these lights are within the model I am at a loss what might be causing this. The one thing I know for certain is that this was not an issue with P3D V2.2.

Anybody else running P3D who can check this?
Cheers,
Martin

I had not noticed them until I deliberately checked, but yes I have them also.

Can you please have a look at Menno's wonderful Blackbird, Rip. For me the afterburner effect is visible from the side and from below/above, but looking into the engines I see nothing.
Cheers,
Martin

The Owls Nest has all the links...

You ought to have that anyway. Here you go:

He also released the A-12 and YF-12 as well in separate packages. Just search under his name.

OK downloading now. I see the package contains traffic files, too, that is good.

When and where are you seeing these things go into afterburner? I tried to follow one out on takeoff at KBAB and it just disappeared into the night.

Really wish we had the Traffic Explorer function in P3D like we had for FSX.

You can see (very faintly though) the "blobs" of the afterburner when you are very near and look at it in a right angle.

The afterburner fires on take-off.

But you agree that there is no afterburner effect that is easy to see, right?

It might useful if you have a screen shot or two to show what you mean, Martin.

OK that is good visual evidence of the problem.

Now I do have a question. How does it look in FSX? Anybody any idea, pics would be good.

My thinking here is that the effects component for P3D is vastly different from FS9/FSX and therefore has a new SDK. If this is the case I can compare the two and see what differences are.
It maybe that the P3D one is far more realistic, and therefore different parms are required for the desired effect.

Re: P3D V2 installation

Something has definitely changed with P3D version 2.3.

Until and with version 2.2 the HTAI F-16 and C-130 crashed P3D and the B-52 and SR-71 worked as supposed to.

Since 2.3 the HTAI AI work great, but the other two aircraft show the issues I have described above.

Martin

This seems to confirm may theory. Do you have the P3D effects SDK for 2.3?
