I use ConvImX from Martin Wright. A very easy to use and intelligent program. Available here: http://www.mwgfx.co.uk/beta.htm

Reminder, make sure you have the most current version of Imagetool out, I had the wrong or older one without the "DXT5" menu option from my FSX-Accel(Gold) SDK.

Greg, I know it was probably a simple fix for you to make the batch file, as a non-programmer type, I can only THANKS for saving me so much time. Finally realized on the AIG forums I was not using all the FSX/P3D converted models released which meant I was in need of many bmp to dds conversions. Saved some much needed HD space, hope to see a small improvement on frames in my high AI traffic areas.

Finally remembered where I saw this thread. Thanks Greg I have just converted 220 JBAI LJ45 textures. Far easier than doing each one individually with DXTBMP. Now does anyone have a script to copy a file into each texture folder ?

File would be: Texture.cfg

If not will do it the old fasioned way

Try this Pete https://sourceforge.net/projects/n2ncopy/ Been using it for quite a while batch copying lightmaps into C-130 folders etc.. Works a treat!!

Does the convert to dds interfere with the model folder which looks to be a FS9 model. I converted to dds but when displayed in P3d it still shows a partial aircraft specifically MAIW NBAI F-15's.

First, texture conversion does not interfere with the model folder. Second, converting BMP textures to DDS does not make the FS9 model compatible with P3D. To use the FS9 model in P3D it needs to be converted to FSX or P3D sdk format.

BTW, converting BMP to DDS is not really necessary as any model which is in FSX/P3D sdk format can still use BMP textures. The only benefit of DDS is a small performance improvement which makes it a good thing to do if your hardware has limited performance specs.
