Re: Blackburn Buccaneer
There's no manual that tells the newcomer how to do all this, so a willingness to take time out to share and grow more talent is important. It does create contention at times when I want to press on with what I am designing, but I'll always make time for people who want to learn and to work in Gmax especially. I have really come to appreciate the time other people have given me over my 15 years learning to model scenery and now AI aircraft, for MSFS. You just can't design in a vacuum and hope to sustain the activity. Thanks everyone for your kind comments.

3 words says it all
"Oh dear God"
And those 3 were hard to find as I am truly speechless.
Fantastic work as always, just getting better and better.
Many, many thanks for all your work.

Back 'ome where she belongs.....
Re: Blackburn Buccaneer
Lovely pic Daryl - pure classic!
Re: Blackburn Buccaneer
Where can it be D/L'ed?
Re: Blackburn Buccaneer
Not quite available just yet Lewis; these are just test shots by beta-testers using the aircraft in different locations
Re: Blackburn Buccaneer
Daryl - have you got a new AFCAD for the Ark Royal, or is it the one supplied with the parking codes changed? Mine's currently got the FMAI FG1s at the back of the flightdeck(as I've seen in photo's), and I've removed the static Buccaneers on the starboard side with the hope of putting these lovely Buccs there.Slightly OT I'm using the FMAI Tooms as opposed to the MP ones as the wingfold is operative and therefore looks more realistic when they're parked up. I've also got a gashly painted Sea King on deck, but that gets in the way at times!!
Re: Blackburn Buccaneer
No mate, I just played around with the one that came with the carrier. I must admit I'm leaning towards the FMAI model as well for exactly those reasons, but Mike's model has a few more loadouts to play with. It's a toughie.
EDIT:
EDIT:
Re: Blackburn Buccaneer
Totally agree - I tried Mike's, they look more like the beefed up Spey versions, have the option of RHWR or standard fin and, as you say, more loadouts, just no wingfold which is the biggie for a carrier---- MIKE??? Anyway, I'd best shut up as this is going off topic of John's lovely Buccaneers!!

Re: Blackburn Buccaneer
I think I'm going to upload the Buccaneers to flightsim.com tomorrow. Thank you to everyone who tested for me. There's nothing significant that needs correcting that's been reported and I'd like to move on with some research for a new project after I've done some bits and pieces for other people.
I am particularly grateful to Bora, who came up with a partial solution to the lack of wing tip Nav lights on the FS9 models. It's not possible to attach them to moving parts as you can in FSX and aircraft.cfg entries won't travel with the folding wings. Bora's solution is specify the Nav lights as strobe lights in the aircraft.cfg file. Because strobe lights only operate from the runway hold, the wings are always down at that point.
Existing file holders will need the F-16 nav lights and here are the .cfg enties:
light.8 = 2, -5.90, -21.00, 0.40, fx_f16_navredm
light.9 = 2, -5.90, 21.10, 0.40, fx_f16_navgrem
Because the S1 does not use the smoke effect (Gyron engines were much cleaner than Speys), the corresponding entries are:
light.6 = 2, -5.90, -21.00, 0.40, fx_f16_navredm
light.7 = 2, -5.90, 21.10, 0.40, fx_f16_navgrem
The flightsim.com zip will have all of this plus the paint kits. I'll post the file names here tomorrow.

Just some information for all you painters out there. There is a rather nifty site dedicated to the Bucc which includes a page listing all individual British aircraft and their travels through upgrades and squadrons, including at least scheme for each.
I hope you find it useful and enjoyable. http://www.blackburn-buccaneer.co.uk/Bu ... Index.html
