Great model and paints, I always loved the look of the Starfighter.

Slightly off topic - are there any F-104s still flying? A quick look at airliners.net shows a couple of preserved examples and one flying in 2008, but are there any now?

Edited to add from Wikipedia and other sources:

According to the FAA there are 10 privately owned F-104 in the U.S.[51] The Starfighters, a civilian demonstration team in Florida, operates three ex-Canadian Military CF-104 Starfighters (1 CF-104D and 2 CF-104s).[52] Another, 5303 (104633), civil registry: N104JR is owned and operated by a private collector in Arizona.[53]

i will release flight plans with the paints, in fact you can all have my "104" flight plans if you wish they arnt much and some are just loops, but i used these to test the paints so some airfields get more traffic than they should :? let me know here if they are wanted and i will post them on my site.

Thanks ! Small detail though, there should not be any white circle or text around the 306 Sq sign...

http://www.airliners.net/photo/Netherla ... 1e95987c65

322 Sq and 323 Sq used to share their aircraft and have the 322 sign (the parrot) on the left side of the tail and the 323 sign on the right side of the tail...

Lot's of really cool F-104 pics from the good old days:

I have uploaded the release V 1.10 of all packages. New are the Belgian, the Danish and the Netherlands package. The US package has been enhanced with the 434th TFS RED DEVILS, the 198th TFS Puerto Rico and the 83rd FIS Taiwan.

Changes - Read with care:

1. The F-104 flight model is from here on solely that of Mike MacIntyre. Ray has asked me to stop releasing his model.
2. The lights referenced in V 1.0 were Shockwave's. This version comes with light made by Mike - thanks again, Mike! :smt001
3. I have harmonized all aircraft.cfg. Not only the technical section, but as well the [fltsim.x] sections where I have enforced a title standard.

For that reason, the new installer will remove the last installation. If you have made any changes that you want to keep, you must make a copy of it before running the new installer. Also if you have made any fllight plans chance is that they will fail with the new version (if the title has changed). I know this is most inconvenient, but better now than any later. It will not happen again with any model in future

Known Issues
For some configurations the lights are wrongly attached. I need to think about how this can be resolved.

Due to all these changes and a heavy real life work load the flight plans are still not ready for release. I hope to have them ready soon.
Cheers,
Martin

Spain?

EDIT
If that is correct then I'd go for this country :) (since the german ones have been covered already)

2nd EDIT
As of trivia: I remember having seen my last F-104 in german colors running its engine in late 1996. It was on Westerland/Sylt where one aircraft was preserved to run the engine from time to time But unfortunatly it was not in flying condition :( Since the place was closed sometime back I don't know what happened to that airframe.

Thank you, Ray.

Hm. I was thinking of a retro AI setup already. Maybe I'll do so after I return back home in three weeks... I'd love to see the old metal back in the air. Not only the Starfighters but the three holers as well. I miss the regular B727 service. Not to forget the DC-10's. Have seen some MD-11's yesterday at FRA. But they are LH cargo only. It's not the same as 20 years ago :(

I have uploaded Version 1.11 of the F-104. This version only fixes the light section.
Those who have Version 1.10 installed should download a small update package (OwlAI-F-104-Ver-110-to-Ver-111-Light-Fix). It contains the correct aircraft.cfg for all released packages. You have to copy them yourself.
Cheers,
Martin
