Looks good Martin,
You thinking of releasing something or was this just you having fun?

Quiet interesting addition for sceneries. I always wanted animated hangar doors that will open when ac is about to exit. FSDS doesn't allow this things as far as I know.

Re: Owl Island - Owl AFB (WIP)
This is a long story, Gavin
I always wanted to make a showcase airport where all these wonderful aircraft and scenery models are presented. I started on the German island Fehmarn.
The thing was, that with every new P3D version, and depending if you have OrbX vector or OrbX Germany North installed, the coastline was always different. And that was an issue because a water airport is part of the setup.
I now have created my own island in the North Sea: Owl Island, location of the Owl AFB...
The setup consist of:
The main base (Bomb, Refueling & Transportation Wing), where the two clips above are taken
The historical wing, with attached modern prop trainers
The heliport
The water airport
A lighthouse with helicopter platform
Several helipads
A vehicle network, where John‘s AI cars travel the whole main base and historical wing
Located at the water airport is also a port with ships and one German water AI frigate that travels a route compiled with AI Boat Traffic Compiler.
I am adding now final optical touches to all places and verify the AI operations. The last is done at the water airport, the main base and the heliport, but still to be done at the historical wing.
I am still trying to learn how to add some hills and a cliff to the island. Not sure if I succeed, though.
Also the documentation with all the credits will need some time.
Then I have to work on the flight plans. In order to populate and test my airports, right now I am sending all aircraft to one airport at about the same time. To make that better is a task I fear and will do at the very end.
I will make some screenshots and post them here.
Some comments. Performance is not great but still ok. After revising the flight plans with not all aircraft present it will be better.
The basic layout for the Fighter Wing is also ready. But I have decided to make that a second project and put it on its own island for performance reasons and so that there can be some traffic in between.
So yes, at the end I plan to release this. If somebody wants to have a look at it and help to ferret out some errors tell me.
The fire exercise is done with effects that load the fire truck models, by the way. It took me a while to figure out how to do this.
SODE is also used for windsocks, flags and wind turbines.
I asked Jeffrey if he sees a chance for nearby AI detection in SODE that can be used for other things than jetways, e.g. to raise a barrier, to populate a sign with the model of a nearby AI aircraft etc., but no answer yet.

Re: Owl Island - Owl AFB (WIP)
I have something similar in the Caribbean with Bomber; Warbird; Helicopter sections and the main part of the airport dedicated to all the Aerobatic Teams ever painted for FS9.
Really a lot of job, for a lot of fun!

I also have placed all the colorful teams in my jet base, Giorgio.
Such a beautiful sight!

Did I see a NASA ER-2 repaint in that picture with the XB-70 and the Blackbirds? I is the ER-2 available for download somewhere?

Re: Owl Island - Owl AFB (WIP)
Sorry, I missed your question. The NASA paint is part of the KRAI U-2 conversion.
A bit of a time warp...
