Re: P-3 Orion on the way out, need the P-8
The Wedegetails for the RAAF are done for FS9 and FSX, as are the Peace Eyes's for The ROK and the Peace Eagles for the Turkish Air Force. The following screen shots are in FSX (with Rex4 Texture Direct + Soft Clouds):
RAAF
ROK
TURKISH AIR FORCE
SOME IN FLIGHT SHOTS
I am not sure vwhat the scenery options are at the moment, but I have found an AFCAD for Williamstown (YWLM) in "MAIW RAAF Williamtown Hornets_Mark Campbell.zip". Would anyone like to take on the amendment of it and produce some flight plans for the Wedgetails please?
Similarly, there is an AFCAD for Gimhae (RKPK) in "Maiw_eap_south_korea.zip". Would anyone like to do the same for the ROK Peace Eyes please?
I couldn't find anything for Konya (LTAN) where the Turkish Peace Eagles are based, but again, would anyone like to take this on please?
While people here are working on the Poseidon AFCADs and hopefully the "Wedgetail" family ones too, I'll write up the documentation for the Poseidons and the "Wedgetail" family and get the packages out to the people involved.

Thanks Gary. Radius is 65ft, MIL_COMBAT. Parking code is AEW (same for all 3 Air Forces) but I can change that if you prefer something else.

Some decent scenery for Gimhae is available on AVSIM for both FS9 & FSX by Seongsu Kim, which presumably just need an updated AFCAD to fit the Wedgetails in.
FS9: korea_airport_8set_fs9_final.zip
FSX: korea_airport_6set_fsx_final.zip

John.. incredibly great AEW model. ^ ^b...
Always quick and beautifully create a plane.
I AEW is released will be re-painted again.
It is very much appreciated.
And RKE explained well.
The majority of the scenery flightsim users to use Korea.
Seongsu Kim is a great scenery producers in Korea.
RKE thankful.

Re: P-3 Orion on the way out, need the P-8
I’ve just PM’d/e-mailed links to the Poseidon and Wedgetail models to those people here that have kindly offered/are already making AFCADS and flightplans to accommodate the aircraft. I think I’ve included everyone, but just to be sure, here’s a summary of what I think is the situation:
POSEIDONS:
Des (reconmercs): Jacksonville, VP-10, VP-16, VP-26, VP-30 and VP-45.
Hartwig (hawk_sh): Patuxant River, VX-1 and VX-20
Brent (clickclickdoh): Kadena Okinawa, VP-8
John (JohnTenn): Raijali India
Not yet covered: Edinburgh RAAF and Bahrain (VP-5), but I’ll follow up the suggestions for third party scenery previously mentioned.
WEDGETAIL FAMILY
Gary (Garysb) Konya Turkey
Not yet covered: Williamstown RAAF and Gimhae ROK, but I’ll also follow up the suggestions for third party scenery previously mentioned.
If anyone else would like to contribute AFCADS/Flightplans, then please respond and I’ll PM the links to the aircraft.

I'm currently doing RAAF Edinburgh using ADE. If your going to use third-party scenery I'll stop doing it. JY Can you PM the link to both models please for testing with the VOZ scenery please

Re: JYAI P-8 Poseidon and B-737 AEW&C
Just checked the Wedgetail using the MAIW Williamstown scenery with my modified AFCAD and it looks great.

John is Hartwig redoing flight plans for them at Pax River as well? I can make new ones for those aircraft if needed.

Here are the P-8s at YPED on the apron. Work in Progress. Just testing the look of the hangers

Mike, I'm assuming Hartwig will make some flight plans too, but he's travelling at the moment so I can't really check. Perhaps I can come back to you if some are needed.
John, those hangars look good.

May I know the poly count for AEW&C? It looks amazing.

Re: JYAI P-8 Poseidon and B-737 AEW&C
Miljan, the poly count for the AEW&C (mesh triangles) is:
LOD_400: 9891
LOD_200: 8541
LOD_100: 7153
LOD_70: 4873
LOD_40: 3316
LOD_20: 1667
LOD_10: 76
The front end is a bit high, but the detail diminishes through the LODs quite rapidly at close range.

Re: JYAI P-8 Poseidon and B-737 AEW&C
Partly Miljan.
I started with my normal 20-sided cylinder for the fuselage, but I wasn't happy with the smoothing, so I increased it to 24 sides in LOD_400 with 1296 polygons (excluding the wing root) and that made all the difference.
The small antennas take 306 polys. The biggest chuck however, after the fuselage, is taken up by the crew, which is 1220, but they only appear when the aircraft is live and the detail is only in that first LOD. The complex flaps and spoilers take up 660 polygons and the cockpit interior, 465.
The biggest hit though are the engines which total 1716. Of that number, 373 of are for the 3 sets of animated fans and hubs (still, slow and blurred) for each engine, but only one of these sets are drawn of course at any one time. The engine itself is complex, with several cylinders needed for the casing, thrust reverser, internals and jet pipe cones.
Polygons these days are not so important. What really matters are draw calls and the need to diminish them as quickly as possible without making sharp and noticeable visual changes. The Wedgetail drawcalls in each LOD are 44, 42, 42, 17, 10, 10 and 1.
Frame rate at my test airfield with the 6 RAAF Wedgetails, viewed close up is 474 fps at max quality settings. No 3-D buildings or trees there, but enough scope for detailed scenery I would think.
