I've got a couple of small tweaks to do to both the Poseidon and Wedgetail models when I get back from holiday a week on Saturday and Steve has kindly been helping rework the FDE. The take-off is too fast (180 KIAS) which is the same speed as the flaps up trigger, so they retract immediately the wheels leave the ground. He's been trying to tame the beasts and I'm about to test the new FDE.

RAAF Edinburgh is coming along nicely so the P-8 will have a place to live as well.

That's really good news John. Brent has already sent me Kadena, so we are getting there. I've now completed all the mods to the Poseidon and Wedgetail models and Steve's revised FDE works a treat in both FS9 and FSX. I've started on the manuals and the next step will be to include the sections that describe the various sceneries/flight plans that people here are contributing. I'll PM links to the new files to the contributors in the next day or so.

That's very kind of you Stewart, thank you.

I think the totality of call signs needed is:

Poseidons:

USN: VP-5, VP-8, VP-10, VP-16, VP-26, VP-30, VP-45, VX-1 and VX-20. NB, Brent has already determined the following call signs: VP-5: MAD FOX, VP-8: TIGER, VP-10: LANCER, VP-16: TALON, VP-26: TRIDENT and VP-45: PELICAN.

RAAF: 11 Sqn

Indian Navy: ?

Wedgetails

RAAF (Wedgetails): 2 Sqn

Turkey (Peace Eagle): 131 Filo

ROK (Peace Eye): ?

If you would like to work on any of these, please do. I assume some or all of the USN call signs exist already in various P-3 packs. If that is the case, would it be possible to extract them so users without them won't need to go hunting for them?

While testing Cecil I was hearing a lot of "Lima Lima" from VP-30 planes, so... guessing that's their call sign and it's already in the Florida Orions package.

Thanks Gary. Thanks also to Mark (Tranquil) for alerting me to the fact that RAAF 2 Sqn Wedgetails are currently all sporting a 100 Anniversary nose flash. I've added them into the textures sheets:

I'll also include the non-anniversary textures in the package so users can revert them when the RAAF eventually removes the decals.

Thanks Mins, I've added your addition to Stewart's list.

I've also sent links to the updated Poseidons and Wedgetails to everyone I think is involved in contributing scenery/AFCADs or Flightplans. Please shout if I have missed anyone.

VX-1 callsign might be AIRTEVRON ONE according to a website I stumbled on. Not sure though.

Hey Firebird,

The RAAF and RAF P-8's are identical to the US Navy versions. The English models will NOT get refueling probes the way previous Boeing birds have. The reason for this is fleet commonality between level 1 allies. The is no tighter bond than that of the US, England, and Australia. You may look at the C-17 as an example. Any airframe in the fleet can be swapped between these countries without any need for crosstraining, certification, or logistical changes.
