Serbia does not keep all of them active but since we have long established overhaul and maintenance and production of spare parts many air airworthy. Older examples are definitely wfu but plenty of them are still operational. This year one Gazelle reappeared out of overhaul that wasn't seen for cca 20 years in service. This all due to reduced need for all of them to be active.

The Gazelles will be for FS9, FSX and P3D if I can keep the models, paints, scenery and flight plans manageable and the split between retro and modern doesn't cause too much conflict.

In fact, that's probably a good opportunity to say that with the great disappointment and irrelevance that FS2020 is to me, probably for the next year or so, I'll re-instate the time that I was hoping to devote to AI work in that version back to including FS9 versions for the time being. So long as the project is not overly complex that is. The A109 was a nice size.

All go for the Gazelle project!

I have the serials I need (big thanks to everyone who responded) and a good feel for what models are needed. I will be concentrating on Middle Wallop, Shawbury and maybe Culdrose. Miljan will produce the SOKO versions from the models and I have offers of help with the French. In fact, I have just checked out the French airfields and 3 look very promising with their runway layouts. I have also found some very good Gazelle plans to work with in Gmax.

So, let's close this request for help in this thread. I will open a new dedicated Gazelle thread when I have something to show, but in the meantime, if anyone has anything useful, perhaps they could PM me.

I remembered that I have the AI poll running on my deserted Owls Nest. These are the top 12 nominees:

Aerospatiale SA 213/SA 318 Alouette II
Eurocopter EC-665 Tiger
Boeing Vertol CH-46 Sea Knight
Grumman S-2 Tracker
Aerospatiale SA 316/SA 319 Alouette III
Bell AH-1 SuperCobra
AgustaWestland AW159 Wildcat
KAI T-50 Golden Eagle
Lockheed F-80/P-80/T-33 Shooting Star
Agusta A129 Mangusta
Douglas B-66 Destroyer
Avro 696 Shackleton

I did not expect so many retro fans around. And your helis have surely inspired peoples wish list, John :-)
Cheers,
Martin

If no one has any objections I want to build an FSX/P3D Nimrod package from scratch. My Blender & painting skills are good enough by now to do my 1st AI model. I expect to finish the century series fighters conversions before the end of January, after that I can start with the Nimrod.

I want to cover the models from the 1970's till 2010 period: MR1, R1 and MR2(P). Do not expect the AEW3 and MRA4 from me.

Why is that, Henk? Aesthetically too challenging? :-)

UKMil did the AEW3, if anyone really needs one for scenery purposes. I have one in my Finningley, though the Gaffer hasn't given permission for it to be released so it won't be in the final version.
