Tanker 131 MFR 1980 and 134 MFR 1981 are EC-130Q'S built on the C-130H airframe. The early H models still retained the HF antennas stretched to the tail. Tanker 132 and 133 are L-382G's, likely built off a C-130E-30.

The 'wire' is the HF aerial(s) (there are normally 2), fitted to all models up to the H2. The J has software-tuned solid-state HF aerials in the aircraft skin.

I'm currently making paints for these mysterious Hercs:

One thing I'm trying to figure out is how do I make a paint for the C-130H-30 model? Is there anything I need to take out from the C-130J-30 paintkit?

Thank you

That's an Interesting subject:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tepper_Aviation

Have you found out how many examples Tepper have and whether there is available scenery for Bob Sikes Airport, Florida to base the aircraft. I'm not sure, in view of their suspected operations, where you would flight plan the aircraft to, although Malta seems popular, looking at some of the published photos.

You really need the C-130H-30 paint file because of the 4 bladed props. I can let you have that if you are going ahead with the project.

I've actually finished the basic paint for one above, minus a few details. I used the C-130J-30 paintkit because the readme said to use it for the C-130H-30, but I didn't know that there was a separate paint kit for the H-30 so that would be great. As far as I know, Tepper doesn't operate their aircraft out of Bob Sikes, but they do appear to currently flying the aircraft around Malta, the Middle East, and parts of Europe and Asia. It also appears that Tepper operates maybe 6 L-100s but there's very little info about that.

When I painted the H-30s I just copied the Prop blades from the standard H paint kit onto the J-30 paint kit, seemed to do the trick. I didn't realise there was a paintkit specifically for the H version.

Here are some recent photos of two other Tepper Hercs, both flying out of Malta.

There's also this nice Blue and white one:

But the fate of this aircraft is unknown as this picture was taken in 2003.

The blue and white one is now Grey.

N2189M-N2731G is widely alleged to be a CIA-operated aircraft. Under its previous registration of N2189M it achieved notoriety for being allegedly involved in extraordinary rendition. It was re-registered in December, 2006 under a new tail number, N2731G

Much thanks

Here is the Tepper paint for the H-30 model, and so far, most of it is completed aside from a few details on the engines. I'm not sure how I can copy and replace the 6 bladed prop with the 4 bladed prop in Photoshop. Also in some pictures, there are faint registration numbers but in some pictures it looks like they're not even there, so i'm probably not going to add those. For flightplans, the aircraft are going to likely be based in Malta with flights through Europe and the Middle East.

To change the prop blade, go to the "Detail" layer in the "H" paint kit and outline the straight blade with a freehand selection tool. You can place a safe margin around it. Copy the selection (CTRL C), then go to the same layer in the "J" paint kit and paste the blade (CTRL V) over the top of the curved one. This will give you a new layer.

Now go to the original curved blade in the J paint kit, select that one in the same way and delete it. Now merge the newly imported blade into the "J" "Detail layer to finish the swap of the blades.

Copying and pasting when painting is very much an essential skill, so it's worth pursuing.

Just a small question.

Do these Tepper C130 still exist and fly?
Are they still flying for CIA?
If yes how many of these are currently flying (2019)?

These are the 4 main ones that keep popping up in searches, but i did think they had more, ive seen pictures of more but they dont come up in current searches and are wearing older schemes..

N3796B
N3867X
N2679C
N2731G

Are they still flying with the CIA, if they are i dont think it would be published, but my guess is yes!

Much thanks

Hi Paul

They paints themselves will work but I'm not sure about the flight plans and AFDs as I haven't tried them. Please feel free to try them and let me know, I might be able to convert the FPs to fsx and I might have the fsx AFDs somewhere if they don't.

It's a good way if you share the FSX version of FP and AFD. I can convert FSX file to FS9, but not P3D. And I will convert them for my FS9 ;-) (I've started texture conversion for my FS9)

Thanks a lot.

I'm not sure the flight plans can be converted to FS9 as they are based on a 5 week period which FS9 does not support. I could be wrong though.

I don't make things for FS9 anymore and haven't for some years now. There may be some commonality between the FSX and P3D projects but again, I haven't used FSX for some time either so if you do try and use them I can't guarantee they will work.

Hi Dale,
First a thank you for the Saudi textures.
One thing I came across at the scramble database is according to them HZ-MS05 became HZ-128, HZ-MS10 became HZ-129 and HZ-MS14 became HZ-132 so these L-100-30 textures have been duplicated.
Regards all the same,
