Yes, I couldn't find the paints, so that would be useful Steve. It would be great to get a realistic soundai for the Astazou as well - bloody noisy things!

John,
Your models are always amazing and hugely anticipated, but I have to say that the JP/Strikmaster pack is outstanding! Whether it is the fact that the subject is closer to my heart than most others or not I am not sure, but I absolutely adore this model! Flying formation with the JP's out of Cranwell in VR is an incredible experience, you seem to have captured the character of the aircraft and truly brought it to life in the sim!

All I can say is a very humble 'thank you' :)

Cheers

Hi John, many thanks for this wonderful new aircraft.
Also, I need to say that, in the manual, if you delete the file "MAIY_15" the buildings at RAF Church Fenton disappears.

Cheers

Apologies Miguel and thanks for pointing that out. Removing "MAIY_15.bgl" does indeed remove the buildings at Church Fenton. Please ignore that instruction everyone. Not sure why I included it.

Hi.

RAF Dishforth is one of the Jet Provost destinations, as we all know.

I want to install Brian Clarke's RAF Dishforth scenery, but for that I have to uninstall the one that is included in MAIW RAF Linton on Ouse. Anyone know what files, apart from the AF2_EGXD.bgl, I should remove from the MAIW scenery so that it does not appear?

Best regars

Hi thought I would have a go at a few early JP schemes for the brilliant JP 3 /4.
Not having done any repaints previously I am not sure if these would be good enough for any to be interested in. Anyway I have done repaints for various CFS, 6FTS, 2FTS, CAW and Cranwell. A couple of example pics are attached and I have put a short video with other screens and a short clip of each scheme on youtube. Search for 'fsx jyai jet provost' or link is
Please post comments / suggestions.

Oh my goodness. Firstly, welcome to the Forum and long may you continue here. These are fabulous repaints, beginner or not, and the care you have taken to display them is great to see. Well done indeed. Thank you for sharing them.

Will you be uploading them and in what format?

Hi John,
Thanks for your excellent model! and the original paint kit. I have done a lot of formation flying with your products over the years.
I have each of the JPs as both DDS 888-8 32 bit and DXT5. The DXT5 versions are bit more blocky but fine for normal AI. The screens and video are all 32 bit version. I will check out how to upload on MAIW and make both versions available for each.

Hi Dave, welcome to MAIW. These are stunning paints! If you have trouble uploading, just ask for directions.

Hi John,

I just installed your Jet Provosts into FS9.

Nice little aeroplanes. Thank you very much for this package.

There seems to be a problem with the Finningley scenery.

It looks like the complete AFCAD file is shifted in relation to the scenery objects.
The large hangars do not align with the aprons, this huge bunker and some barracks run across a taxiway.

I downloaded the JP zip Hartwig and set up the scenery again. This is what I have, with the AFCAD drawn over the top with AFX:

Most of the buildings are fine, but there is a mis-alignment with the weapons bunker top left. I did try to explain in the manual why I can't change anything:

"This is one of the earliest pieces of design work I ever did for MSFS some 17 years ago. It’s quite basic but will
hopefully suffice for now because there is not much else. I cannot change anything because I no longer have the
programs used to produce it".

I gave up detailed custom scenery design several years ago in favour of AI aircraft. I do however like to provide scenery if I can, but sometimes it's just not possible, or always to a high standard, especially for 3 sim versions.

Thank you for your answer John.
It looks the same for me.
I had actually read your comments in the manual regarding the age of this scenery.
It was just my impression that you might have accidently slightly shifted the AFCAD layout when adding the parking spots.

I am still working on a new Finningley - P3D and FSX, not FS9 I'm afraid. A couple of images of recent work:

Hartwig,

The AFCAD is Tim's from his FSX Finningley. It doesn't quite match but he has has all the right parking. To demonstrate how old the scenery is, the objects were made with Nova and the placement with ScenGenX. I don't have those programs now or the source files and I'm really not interested in building it from scratch for a few FS9 users.

Thanks John.
Now the picture becomes clearer.
I was able to move the whole AFCAD layout but the hangars still did not match. The AFCAD seemed to be slightly rotated too.
Now that you said that this AFCAD file is from FSX it is clear why.

I am thinking about adapting this AFCAD file to lign up with your objects.
