I cannot find the NBAI_BRAKE_CHUTE texture file for these models. Would it be possible to post it here for download please.

I have just started installing the Hawk and noticed that the Hawk 100 textures are in DDS DXT3. Is this correct?

I thought that the correct type for FSX/P3D with alphas was DDS DXT5

Thank you for the Conversion for this lovely Hawk Family! Just one point, the RAF Hawk T2s have Slime lights, did you choose to leave this out?

Much thanks

Sorry Mark, those T2 slimes completely escaped my attention. When doing dozens of model variations it is easy to miss the odd exceptions.

Thanks Mark, I guess you know that you need to update the models? FS9 light maps like NBAI_Hawk_100_L.bmp do not work in FSX/P3D models. For FSX you can add poly's with visibility tags, in P3Dv4 you can add a script to the material with the light map texture but that breaks backward compatibility with FSX/P3Dv2-3 so I prefer to use poly's for the slimes.

Henk, all i do is re-add the texture in mcx via the Material Editor, and select night map texture, choose my file and resave the model! this process works fine for me! Slimes are now showing!

Much thanks

OK, but then I guess the slimes are always on at night, also when the model is sleeping?

I think there is a small problem with the ROKAF texture files for the Hawk 60:

ROKAF - "NBAI_Hawk_67_T.dds"

All the others are "NBAI_Hawk_67_T.dds"

I have changed the ROKAF texture names to read "60" and they now appear in AIAE

Mark, here is a link to an updated Hawk T2 clean model. I added conditional slime poly's, they should glow at dawn/dusk/night from the moment the aircraft is cleared for take off till it leaves the runway after landing. If you like it, I will add the other T2 variants.

Note: I also enclosed the new FSX/P3D lightmap texture which replaces the old FS9 NBAI_Hawk_100_L.BMP file.

Henk, maybe adding them to an RAF Model folder would be a good idea as the model used to represent the centre tank ones is also used by the Canadian air force (ct155 centre tank, ct155 Centre tank solo) that dont have Slimes, ie model.RAF_T2_centre_tank. i could then release a whole pack with my updated T2 textures?

Much thanks

Mark, you can download all updated RAF T2 models with slimes here:

https://app.box.com/s/l5ewyhuormmiee5nz2o9yqbrwkb9fzn5

I added 2 extra RAF T2 models: model.centre_tank + model.centre_tank_solo. I only do the models, the MAIW packaging and what goes into which folder is up to others to decide, I guess at some point there will be an update/service pack. At least you will be able now to have RAF T2's with centre tanks and working slimes and no conflict with the Canadians.

This model update works great with my win10 P3Dv3.4 rig, but, on my other rig win7 FSX,
I experience the windows visual C "runtime error R6025" through a process of eliminating traffic
files. Is there a way of correcting this issue? aircraft effects etc.
Kind Regards
Mike

Mike, I have no idea, the models are tested in standard FSX-SE / P3Dv4. What I know is that 3rd party traffic addons may cause issues. A C runtime error usually indicates an external app which connects to the sim via Simconnect has crashed.

Michael, what effect does your Hawk use.
That error means that there is an issue with an effect. So the question is is it one you added yourself or one that comes with the aircraft?

If the effect is one that originally came from a flyable aircraft it will crash it. To work for AI aircraft effects have to be modded.
